Crazy stat to contemplate:
In 2024 China added almost exactly 1
GW of solar and wind capacity per day (358 GW across the year) – a pace equivalent to
building a typical nuclear reactor every single day.

Property taxes are confusing, because the UCP prefers it.

Last year, Edmonton increased municipal taxes by 5.7%. But then the UCP hiked the Education Tax by 9% and forced cities to collect it for them.

The UCP loves systems where others shoulder the blame for their actions.

Ice ruts make for vexatious winter cycling. If your front wheel slips down one side of the rut and rear wheel slides down the other side, it's near impossible to stay up. With our recent slush fest followed by flash freeze, they're waiting to strike in even the best maintained bike lanes. #yegbike

The City is taking feedback on their Climate Action Plan. They recently told council about how far behind they already have fallen in achieving their goals, and it's not hard to see why.

Climate Change is an existential threat, and we need meaningful action now.

Do you care about how walk-/bike-friendly 76 Avenue is, between the ravine and 99 street?

If so, you are invited to meet me and some like-minded friends at 2:30 tomorrow at Bent Stick brewing to help formulate a response the city's proposed new design. DM me!
