Very happy city council has put funds towards a day shelter. Issue with @HopeMission & other current options are they in my 3xperience are judgemental and throw God into your face. Staffing issues & tolerance towards vulnerable persons isn't in my opinion at a satisfactory level. #abpoli #yegcc

The sheer irony of this loser running for city council on a "Clean up the City" slogan, spamming the public spaces of the ward with his signs, and then never coming to pick up all of his litter after the election. #yegcc

A yellow and green campaign sign illegally placed too close to a roadway on a public boulevard. Certain graphic design choices were definitely made in its composition. It reads "Clean up the City – Clean up Council" at the top. In the middle, in a weird clutter of elements, it reads, "Patrick Stewart.ca". At the bottom it reads in tiny letters, "Ward O-Day'min" on the left, and "For Councillor" on the right.

I went and looked up precisely how many votes Tim Cartmell lost by because I was struggling to understand the volume of butthurt necessary to demand a RECOUNT of a mayoral election.

The recount for the city councillor race in Ward sipiwiyiniwak is now complete, and I want to congratulate Thu Parmar on being officially declared the next City Councillor.

I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer alongside Thu in the community, and I know her dedication, experience and qualifications will serve our ward well. I wish her all the best as she steps into this important role.

It has been an incredible journey, especially doing it a second time around. One filled with meaningful conversations, kindness at the doors, and countless moments of community connection. I am deeply proud of the campaign we ran together: grassroots, positive, and grounded in accessibility, accountability, and genuine care for our city.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, supporter, endorser and voter who believed in me and helped carry this campaign forward. You gave your time, your resources, and your trust, many of your doing both times, and I will forever be grateful.

Serving our community has always been, and will continue to be, a central part of my life. While this campaign chapter closes, my commitment to civic engagement and community service remains strong.

This can't be understated! The new mayor of Edmonton is a year round (yes, even in winter!!!) cyclist.

And my ward elected a councillor who was a city transit operator.

I have high hopes for what this council means for active transportation and transit.
