Feels like the internet is just that one "You don't fit in here" comic where the people come into spaces queer folk create and push them out of it, over and over and over. I think major platforms may be a mistake. Corpo internet is not, and will never be where creativity and safety can ever thrive.

@aaron.bsky.team Either this place is safe for trans folks or it isn't. If Jesse Singal isn't banned by 12/18/2024, every queer person should leave this foul platform. And it becomes that, if you don't protect it. Trans existence is not a matter of "debate". Get to work, or queer folk will leave.

some thoughts on the Singal situation, as it seems to be moving towards "nobody says anything and he stays on the platform":
I think this is a mistake, and I think it risks losing much of what made bluesky special and taking away one of the few safe-ish spaces trans people have left on the internet

It's just a classic example of cis people not giving a fuck about trans people. Despite having a platform that could hold people to a standard of conduct the blue sky staff would rather ignore the safety of the population that helped establish their user base.
Shit sucks.

singal has broken platform rules. if certain accounts are given exemptions from the community guidelines bluesky will create personalities like libs of tik tok, just like twitter did. if this continues there will be mass shooters who cite inspiration from bluesky accounts in their manifestos.
