Facebook itself projected $16 billion of its 2024 revenues derived from scams and ads for prohibited items inc threatened species and fake medical products.

Is Facebook now akin to a historic Empire or trading company like the East India company, plundering the earth’s riches for profit.

What is going on at the BBC?
This is a really appalling editorial error on BBC Question Time

Chair says "have English as a second language"

Caption changes the meaning entirely

Growth, yes we want growth! We just don't want the essential workers needed to make that happen in case it upsets the bigots.
Latest monthly visa application figures are out.

Skilled workers? Still dropping.
Health & care workers? Still dropping.

Slow clap.

We need to build up European military capabilities swiftly.

Strengthening European defence and supporting Ukraine are not separate tracks.
They are mutually reinforcing priorities.

Today’s call with E5 defence colleagues underscored our shared determination to move forward on both.

Most bonkers part of the story for me is that the Murdoch money was donated via News International (now News UK) - owner of The Times, The Sun, TalkTV etc.

In other words, a media company donating to a political pressure group.

And these same outlets have the gall to whinge about BBC “bias”

I'm not kidding: I reported on this FOUR YEARS AGO in "The Decade In Tory"

It also contained the entire COVID Inquiry (cost: £200m). And every single Brexit mistake (£140bn per year).

And it's £2.50 on Amazon.

www.theguardian.com/education/20...
Tory governments spent £325m on free schools that failed or disappeared
More than £10bn was committed to building new schools between 2014-15 and 2023-24, compared with £6.8bn for rebuilding existing schools
