Two headlines on the BBC website:

1. Iran protesters defy crackdown as videos show violent clashes

2. Thousands march and dozens arrested in Minneapolis protests against ICE

The two most pertinent editorial word choices here are 'crackdown' and 'arrested.' See how this works?

Instead of banning the use of the name “veggie burger”, the world would be a better place if meat burgers were banned. 🙃

What a sad and despicable coward.
“Those who carried out October 7 had something in their mind that said these families, these women and children that were are going to slaughter in cold blood are less than us.”

"Uneasiness about [Trump's] unreliability is hardening into understanding that overexposure to the whims of his regime is straight-up dangerous, because there is no degree of investment in him that will bear fruit."
Trump’s retreat from Nato was priced in. But his humiliation of Qatar and India spells total chaos | Nesrine Malik
Allies indulged the US president on the basis they wouldn’t be bombed or suffer economic damage. So much for that idea, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

Today's final approval of the North West Shelf is a climate, economic, and energy security disaster.

Australia Institute analysis shows the 45-year expansion is equivalent to building 12 new coal power stations.

we are in a lawless, fascist uprising with multiple constitutional crises taking place simultaneously and this motherfucker is STILL talking about finding common ground and cooperating
Hakeem Jeffries: "Donald Trump promised that he would lower housing costs on day one. Here's a suggestion for the Trump administration: try to legislate, and maybe we can find common ground in order to get something done for the American people."

i don't even think they believe it's reasonable. israel just knows that at this point they could blame an airstrike on the tooth fairy and there would be no consequences.
It's mind boggling that they seem to think this is a perfectly reasonable explanation

The threshold was crossed back when innocent people started being snatched off the street because of their accents. Some war criminal getting his house searched isn't a Rubicon, unless you feel more solidarity with him than the people already being detained without due process.
Obviously few on the left (or in the centre) are going to want to dash to the defence of John Bolton, but this is still a hell of a threshold that’s being crossed.

Trump critic getting raided on the personal orders of a political appointee…
The FBI is raiding John Bolton's house, apparently at Kash Patel's personal direction, the NY Post is reporting:

This is what these schemes are always about. controlling what the public is allowed to see and it’s telling that so many governments of “liberal “ democracies are rushing to implement them
The U.K. Online Safety Act was (avowedly, as revealed in a recent High Court case) “not primarily aimed at protecting children” but at regulating “services that have a significant influence over public discourse.”
