Soooooo ... I've started a Substack (y'know, in case the social media oligarchs and fascists get so bad that I have to delete some places)

I'll be discussing Books/Publishing/Culture/Me.

Hey - it could be worse; I could be starting a podcast! 😅 substack.com/@daniellebinks

Erika Kirk’s drama school churning out some empty vessels already …
Sussan Ley: I’m going to give the most opportunistic, unhinged press conference to try and get political gain from the tragedy that is the Bondi shooting. I’m even going to Criticise Penny Wong for not crying enough.

Michael McCormack: most unhinged? Hold my beer.

Despite that very misleading headline; “There is weaker support for a royal commission and a crackdown on protests … but the polling still shows more people are in favour of those measures than not.”

Love to know if the pollster called them “pro-Palestine” or “anti-genocide” protests too. #AusPol

I highly recommend watching this segment, not just because the CBS News execs and the White House didn’t want you to, but because these men were tortured and they deserved to have their voices heard.

The idea that the far-right, anti-immigration parties and xenophobe media are going to protect the Aus Jewish community is absurd

Sussan Ley is clearly so far out of her depth that she deserves to be sacked by her party, purely for her own good.

This is perhaps the most contemptible thing any political leader has ever said in this country.

The sooner she f*cks off to obscurity the better for Australia.

Anyone who places blame squarely and solely on PM Albanese's shoulders for the Bondi terror attack is doing a disservice to themselves, Australians, and Jewish safety. It was not his fault and to suggest as much is psychotic. The behaviour towards him at the Bondi vigil was disgraceful #AusPol
