Disabled activist Carol Olinger is still in custody after peacefully protesting GOP Medicaid cuts.

She needs insulin NOW & has kidney dialysis at 6am.

This is medical neglect—cruel and deliberate. Her life is at risk.

We demand her release & care. Please share widely!

I have a friend that guarded Saddam Hussein after his capture. He said he was quite nice and friendly.

Reminds me of Bill Mahers meeting with Trump.

This is the beginning of a massive fall of MAGA.

No amount of division, fear mongering, lies, and cheap lines will overcome the fact that you just took many people’s prosperity just because it makes you feel powerful.

Mark my words, the beginning of the end.

He imposes taxes on us without our consent:
He deprives us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury:
He transports us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses…

I'm thinking about a quote by British author Elizabeth Bibesco in 1934, amid Hitler's growing horrors:
“The Nazi regime benefits from the fact that its atrocities overstep the limits of credibility.”
Today, many Americans suffer from that same failure of imagination. It could be fatal.

I've come along to this take after kneekerk cynicism. Doing stuff that grabs attention is good. Not every action has to accomplish everything. You can praise and be happy about a step forward. We're going to need many steps forward.
yall we can’t collectively screech that “no one’s doing anything!” and then say “no not like that” when someone actually does something.

is Booker’s filibuster gonna save the world? of course not. but since courage begets courage it could lead to more. I’m fucking cynical as hell but come on.

Elon Musk has been a walking SEC violation for a decade and no one cared. The entire Trump era could have been avoided if the US took white collar crime anywhere near as seriously as it does low level drug crime.

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?

The US is going through our own Cultural Revolution. Our cult of personality is also willing to burn everything to the ground for ideological purity. MAGA's predecessor left China an economic ruin, killed millions, and left the country without intellectuals or expertise. It took decades to recover.

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

There's something grimly ironic about Trump, whose criminal guilt was quite clear based on public information, managing to land in the White House rather than a prison cell thanks to dragging out Due Process, now handwaving process away and assuming the right to brand criminals by fiat.
