No surprise, but it still feels awful.
We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.

Republicans just don't care about your health care.

Don’t look at what I do, just believe what I say.
Shaheen: So let me be clear. No one in the senate chamber wants to extend the ACA tax credits more than I do.

It’s never a fair fight when you’re forced to legislate with evil, soulless bastards.

When you’re retiring and you could do the right thing at little to no personal cost, but you chose to do the wrong thing instead.

Damn.
None can be primaried in the next cycle, Shaheen & Durbin retiring.

Hassan, Masto, Fetterman up for reelection in 2028.

Rosen, Kaine, King up for reelection in 2030.

Bullies gain power when their misconduct succeeds in causing righteous people to yield in the face of wrongdoing. That’s why voting for Trump's continuing resolution - without any protection against his health care cuts or his growing illegality - is a mistake.

I voted NO.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Schumer is spreading the word he was against the deal. But he is the leader. So he either tacitly let it happen or he failed as a leader. No excuse works for him. This is a fail.

Does he… never mind.
Meanwhile, the president..

We tried to show them after the last surrender. There's no sense in trying to convince them anymore. Primaries are the only path to a fighting opposition party now.

"PROMISE OF A VOTE ON HEALTHCARE"
November 9, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Can someone please ask this man what his definition of “fight” is?

This man had got to gooooooooo.
Schumer: "However this vote turns out, this fight will and must continue. Democrats must fight."
November 10, 2025 at 1:38 AM
This “rank and file Dem” is apoplectic.

WTF are they thinking???

We have been doing SO MUCH to shore up our local communities so Dems can keep fighting on Capitol Hill.

Caving is an insult to all of our efforts. Jfc.
In March, after Schumer last surrendered, we called an emergency meeting of Indivisible leaders. 92% told us to call on him to step down from leadership (which we did).

In a poll over this weekend, 98.67% said we should keep up the fight.

Rank & file Dems are going to be PISSED!
Either way, so many Dems... the bulk of the Senate caucus, House leadership, governors, etc.,... all quickly throwing down the gauntlet with such open unrestrained attacks on any Dems who cave is new. It wasn't like that in March, not nearly as loud and widespread and immediate, much more base-only.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Please don’t think this beltway game of having retiring Dem senators vote yes while everyone else votes no is going to shield leadership from the end result. We see what is happening and can’t be fooled by those games.

They are so used to the American people being politically illiterate that they think we will continue to accept this kind of performative bullshit.
This, from Tim Kaine is HILARIOUS:

And goddamnit we deserve so much better than this.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

I will also be calling them to ask for a plan to raise the minimum wage to an ACTUAL living wage so people don't have to rely on the whims of a demented president to eat.

JFC what a mess we're in.
Fuck ICE.

I'll be calling my dem reps this week telling them I want to see a PLAN for dismantling ICE that can be enacted as soon as we get any degree of power.
i follow a lot of people covering ICE's terror campaign but it was eye opening to see irl how angry everyone is. every store has anti ice signs and know your rights brochures. there's anti ice graffiti everywhere. people are pissed.

Trump and his cronies are now pushing 50-year mortgages.

Buckle up. This is going to make the 2008 mortgage crisis look like the good old days.
