Ok so I do think this was not the best move for Senate Democrats, but I'm not nearly as pissed as everyone else seems to be. I think everything has been visible enough that Republicans are under the microscope for their promised vote in December. If it doesn't pass, I do think everyone knows who to

I don't believe for a second she's a different person. This is self preservation. But it's good for us that one of them blinked. The first weak link in the chain has been found. More will follow.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "It's absolutely the worst political move to have the House in recess & for us to not be here working...there's a lot of disenfranchised 2024 voters & that was obvious in Tuesday's election. I'm from Georgia & we lost 2 statewide Public Commission seats & lost them heavily."

White-passing indigenous people when white people call them colonizers:
Hard to think of anything in media that regularly brings me as much pure joy anymore as the headline in The New York Times' Trilobites section.

Today @TheNewYorker released our short documentary “Rovina’s Choice” online.

It traces the ongoing effects of the sudden shutdown of US foreign aid through the story of one mother in Kenya as she seeks to save her daughter from sickness and starvation. 🎥 1/ www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

I always thought that the rats would leave once it's apparent that the ship is sinking. I just 1. didn't think it would take so long for them to notice and 2. didn't think that MTG would be the first one.
Greene: "I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term in Congress and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party."

I swear this exact scenario keeps happening in this country:

- Country in shambles
- Dems voted in by a slim majority to fix it
- Dems who barely won purple districts will barely help pass stripped-down, but still great legislation
- Idiots get mad and either vote R or sit out
- Country in shambles
Also, Biden didn’t “backtrack” on raising the minimum wage. He announced he was going to try, then had to concede the votes weren’t there.

Leftists, please stop acting like there’s a magic button.

Remember earlier in the year when we suggested it was the voters touching the stove? Yeah, I think that's over. This is the administration touching the stove.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

It's also important to note that America has an abundance of food, and people might not die of starvation here particularly...but only because they will eat before they pay their rent or heating bills. People will lose their homes and die of exposure to the winter cold.
What did people do before SNAP?”

They died.

Healthcare, vaccines, disability support, education & food assistance are vital to our survival.

They’re why the average lifespan isn’t 35 anymore

The mark of a good & decent society is whether it sees the value in helping others.

So I'm listening to The Lost World audiobook by Michael Crichton after I recently finished the original Jurassic Park. And oh my God, I cannot stand Ian Malcolm in these books. Spielberg and Goldblum are miracle workers turning this guy into an actual charismatic, likeable protagonist.

It's not. The problem is it wasn't their idea and they didn't control the messaging. That's it. It's sour grapes.
The part I’m still a little unclear on is how having millions of people show up for a pro-democracy, anti-Trump street party is a bad thing
sums it up. headlines on crowd sizes and the feeling that maybe something happens (somewhere else) aren’t action, and getting a bunch of people to show up to a party for nothing isn’t organizing.

find your people and build something real.
October 20, 2025 at 4:57 PM
While people like you sat on the sidelines and tut-tutted, DSA and PSL were out there signing people up. You are so focused on everything not being exactly where you want it to be to actually see the path to getting there.
there’s opportunity for real organizing to happen from these spaces, and it keeps on not happening because the people showing up only want to do this. this is their maximum. you want to break that ceiling, you gotta break the narratives defending and maintaining it.

Hold up, do I understand this correctly? Our law enforcement had informants inside MS-13 for *years*, and were doing real work to stop the gang. Trump and Rubio made a deal with Bukele to sell out those informants so that they could set up CECOT and nab innocent people off the street to... 1/2
This story is extraordinary even by 2025 standards. Marco Rubio, the nation's top diplomat, made a deal with Bukele and agreed to renege on informant agreements in a years-long DOJ investigation into MS-13, totally undercutting credibility of such agreements.

Rubio promised to betray U.S. informants to get Trump’s El Salvador prison deal
To secure U.S. access to President Nayib Bukele’s notorious CECOT prison, Rubio agreed to turn over several MS-13 leaders central to a long-running Justice Department investigation.

A reminder for all: every system of government needs general buy-in from the populace, either from consent or fear. #NoKings is effective in signaling that we give them neither to usurp the Constitution.

You do not understand fascism if you think they DON'T need an excuse if they want to stay in power. It fucking matters if people sitting at home see normal people on the news getting brutalized. Black Bloc LARPers? "ANTIFA deserved it for bringing violence!"
