I never expected to know the names of senators and representatives from outside my area, let alone have favorites. This is a very weird timeline.
Is it weird to miss boring politicians?
Politicians who were boring and like, even if i didn’t like them, had some kind of understanding of how the government works.
I could hate them because their policies were sh*t and not because they were you know… *gesture at everything + evil policies*

Well said. Destroying arts and humanities is a calculated strategy used by despots everywhere.
Humanities are the antidote to the empire’s greatest weapon: ignorance. They expose how history is weaponized to justify conquest, and how culture is polished to erase resistance. When you attack the humanities, you attack the very tools people use to unlearn oppression.
