They’re gonna ship them back to America under the safe third country agreement, aren’t they? The US has never lived up to that “safe third country “ designation. So-called Canada is a stupid place.
CBC says: "intercepted after allegedly crossing illegally"

Your apparently necessary reminder: every person seeking asylum in another country has the right to get to safety however the heck they can, including by irregular border crossing and without documents.

Fascinating. I did not know this.
Your yearly reminder that due to the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement that replaced NAFTA, nothing new will enter the public domain in Canada until 2043.

John McClane fights that guard outside the church for a long time. The soldiers have time to get the address, CHANGE THEIR FATIGUES, & drive to the location while he is still fighting the guy. #diehard2

💯this!
Yes. Where the US goes so do we, like the good little client state we are

I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s too early for Xmas songs.

I’ve had my annual watching of The Muppet Christmas Carol last week, but, because none of any of my grade six students watched it on the last day before the winter break, I find myself, tonight, watching “first time watching” videos of people watching it for the first time.

Sad? Or inspired?

Sad.

As Vancouver’s only independent space devoted entirely to lens-based art, Gallery 881 has become a vital cultural hub in Strathcona and a significant voice in the city’s arts landscape. Help them reach their fundraising goal.

It has been my understanding that white men in America have never had to apologize for anything, not even when they are mass shooting children

How is it humanity is so compassionless?
You know, some days I sit and think about how absolutely wild it is that we've built a society where we don't provide a place for people to even sleep at night without having to pay for it, and that we've somehow made it seem like that's normal.

I can’t believe I forgot to post this last week. This one put on a show of slapping his tail for over an hour.

I watched The Muppet Christmas Carol by myself, tonight, on an iPad. It is still brilliant.
I followed it up with Condorman, which was less so but still a silly film. It was neat to see the father from the 1980s’ Teen Wolf have such a large role.
The grade 6 team decided to do a movie and games afternoon with four different movie offerings and a room dedicated to board games. No student, in any of the classes, chose The Muppet Christmas Carol.

I’m a little heartbroken.
My two capitulations to the Xmas season are annual viewings of Ernest Saves Christmas, and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

I watched Ernest tonight and will share the Muppets with my stà:xwelh on the last day of school before the winter break.

I’d love to see more of this type of cards again
All I want for Christmas is…a painting of a mouse riding a lobster.

Christmas cards during the Victorian Era tended to be rather unusual, reflecting an offbeat sense of humor before Christmas iconography had solidified into what it is today.

Let’s shake this tree down. 🧵⬇️

I’m going to be stuck providing supervision support in someone else’s classroom, which will probably mean I’m watching the kids while the teacher ensures their classroom is clean of things like forgotten food and fire hazards, and I will have to do that, to my room, after school.
I’m whining. 😬

I found my toque.
Under a stack of books.
I’m at a loss as to how that came to be.
I bought a new toque last weekend, one that actually fit my big, fat head. I remember getting home and I remember seeing it as I separated out my stuff from the stuff I bought for work. I haven’t seen it since and I suspect I may have tossed it out with some garbage or recycling at work. 🤦🏽‍♂️

This is a test.

Sadly it is standardized but I was educated in a colonial system, so what are you going to do?
