Our school Remembrance Day assembly was today and it was run by stà:xwelh this year. They rocked it! I am so proud of them all!

Getting a lot of video recommendations, on YouTube, for how to live in your car. Not sure how to take that.

Was presented a commemorative medal this afternoon, which dragged up a lot of bittersweet memories and emotions. It was nice to receive but it’s been rough.

Later in the evening, made the mistake of watching John Candy: I Like Me, so my already volatile emotional state tipped into emotional wreck.

An excellent story about showcasing a living culture. Love it!

💯agree with this!
My hot take is politicians leaving their parties after getting elected is good for democracy. I don’t care if they go indie, cross the floor, or start a new party. Anything to drive home the fact we elect individuals, not parties, even if we don’t act like it

This deserves a boost. Donate and/or share, please!
It's Zammi's 1st birthday. She only got an hour and a half with her mama and siblings and Keira won't get to see her on Tuesday since she got to see her today for her birthday. Tuesday is the day she normally gets an hour with Zammi. Please send a donation over to help Keira if you're able.

The stà:xwelh are at that stage where they are eating Hallowe’en candy whenever they’re able to sneak it into their mouths during class time, AND. SINGING. CHRISTMAS. CAROLS!

One of them then pointed out that I seemed grumpy today and wanted to know why.

Attempted to battle a couple of personal demons today. Picked little ones but they still kicked me to the curb and stomped me pretty good.

Looking for a Hallowe'en costume appropriate for stretching out on the couch to watch tv and not answer the door.

So, hey, I heard there was a sport game this evening. Many seem interested in it. How’d it go? I was at my first evening of parent-teacher conferences, though, to be fair, I’m not really into sport games but some parents, colleagues and stà:xwelh seemed obsessed with this particular sport game.

So-called Canada has never really been better than the US. To their credit, I guess, America still recognizes the Jay Treaty (though for how much longer, I wonder). We do have prettier money though.
Can we truly say we're better than the US when we have Premiers using the notwithstanding clause willy nilly to strip Canadians of their charter rights?

My response to a non Native friend referring to Land Back as a slogan that's not actionable:

Land Back is actionable. It just requires more than to read the hashtag and assume we'll do to you what you've done to us. This fundamental failure of understanding is 1/3

This is unfortunate. They’re forcing alberta teachers back to work and using the notwithstanding clause to block any legal challenges.

This can also be said of Canada.
reading slaughterhouse 5 for the first time and i was absolutely knocked senseless by this passage, which is so true and relevant that it feels like it was pulled from a history book

Star Wars: Visions is kinda doing this, but I agree, this would be good. My understanding was Solo was trying that until they fired the directors and brought in Ron Howard to “save” the film. I’ve often wondered what the Lord & Miller Solo might have been.
Give us a couple of $20-$40M Star Wars movies by cool directors every year. Let them bend canon and utilize all the Lucasfilm prop, costume and set designers. Unionize the VFX artists and train them to direct too. Intro the new characters in shorts before the other movies. Play w/ genre and tone.
give us a character driven, medium budget Kylo / Ben movie that marries andor style writing with the mythic qualities of the jedi
