This. Always this.
Anyway, I have a headache.
Took the nuclear option to stop the stà:xwelh from singing their Xmas carols in class, BEFORE AT LEAST DECEMBER! Pulled up Baby Shark on my computer, put it on repeat and played it (admittedly at a reasonable volume, I’m not a monster).

I just finished, “Lost in Space,” and need to take a break because the darn thing made me cry.
Newest addition to my sci-fi course was a hit! Take Us To Your Chief by Drew Hayden Taylor. When asked what was their favorite stories each of the 9 stories got some love, but “Mr. Gizmo” and “Take Us To Your Chief” ran away with it.

Can’t help but notice that so-called Canada is not on this list.

"Carney said Riel’s execution divided a young nation but his legacy helps to unite a Canada determined to learn from history."

Turns out what Canada learned from this history is to continue occupying and extracting resources from the land regardless of Indigenous peoples.
WINNIPEG – Prime Minister Mark Carney has paid tribute to Métis leader Louis Riel on the 140th anniversary of Riel’s execution.

This
This is a crucial bit about clandestine child graves at residential “schools”. FNMI communities who’ve become caretakers of the remains and memories of many thousands who died at residential “schools” owe us non-Indigenous Canadians NOTHING. It’s not about us or up to us.

I won’t lie, some of these make me want to do some car camping but the whole concept of living in your car just feels grim.

I’m kinda alarmed at the fact that we live in an age where we’d have to consider this. I’m getting older and it’s crossed my mind, despite being employed.
Getting a lot of video recommendations, on YouTube, for how to live in your car. Not sure how to take that.

Was presented a commemorative medal this afternoon, which dragged up a lot of bittersweet memories and emotions. It was nice to receive but it’s been rough.

Later in the evening, made the mistake of watching John Candy: I Like Me, so my already volatile emotional state tipped into emotional wreck.

An excellent story about showcasing a living culture. Love it!

💯agree with this!
My hot take is politicians leaving their parties after getting elected is good for democracy. I don’t care if they go indie, cross the floor, or start a new party. Anything to drive home the fact we elect individuals, not parties, even if we don’t act like it

This deserves a boost. Donate and/or share, please!
It's Zammi's 1st birthday. She only got an hour and a half with her mama and siblings and Keira won't get to see her on Tuesday since she got to see her today for her birthday. Tuesday is the day she normally gets an hour with Zammi. Please send a donation over to help Keira if you're able.

The stà:xwelh are at that stage where they are eating Hallowe’en candy whenever they’re able to sneak it into their mouths during class time, AND. SINGING. CHRISTMAS. CAROLS!

One of them then pointed out that I seemed grumpy today and wanted to know why.
