What if the police just checked to make sure the "ICE" agents were legit? Does that cross the line? They don't have proper uniforms, visible ID, etc. I don't think anyone wrote our laws expecting the state police and the federal government to be widely opposing forces.

Grr. That's what happens when we follow rules and the other side doesn't have to. Thanks, though. I didn't think of the Supremacy Clause in this situation. I do think we SHOULD follow the law: someone has to.

True! They don't seem to have any training, nor even impulse control, so there are probably hundreds of reasons for actual police to detain them. Even if it's for relatively minor things, it would get their identities on the books.
