Some grim Memorial Day reading: a recent ruling in the 9/11 military commission reveals descriptions of one of the CIA’s most sadistic black sites — like, well,

New disclosures from the military commissions underscore the depravity of the post-9/11 program—through the eyes of its practitioners, not just its victims.

everything means the opposite for these people. freedom
means your freedom to obey. the first amendment means their freedom to tell you what you can read and think.
En banc Fifth Circuit overrules decades of precedent and holds that there is no First Amendment right to receive information in a public library.

For protests to succeed, writes Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò, they must be backed by movements with the ability to promise to withhold—labor, debt payments, rent payments, etc—and to follow through if demands aren’t met.

Judging by Farage's actual stated aims (in things like the Reform manifesto) and voting behaviour his actual positions amount to: close the borders, give capital a complete free hand to loot everyone left inside. In a world where, like, it mattered what was real, this would count for something.
Watch the introduction to #trevorphillips this morning - Nigel Farage being painted as the champion of the working class.

Except Farage voted against strengthening workers rights just a few weeks ago. But Phillips doesn't worry about facts. He's not there to do that.
