The extent of the damage done to public health, biomedical science, and healthcare in the US in less than a year will take a generation or more to repair. This is the scale of the destruction. Let that sink in. A new president, Congress won't be enough to reverse things fully. It's that bad.
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

So I'm working on a thing right now trying to figure out the future of the economy, and let's just say the only thing separating us from the worst economic crash since the Great Depression is Donald Trump admitting he was wrong.

In other words, we're fucked.

They are trying to erase any progress we made in the 20th and 21st centuries, including voting rights.
🚨BREAKING: U.S. House passed GOP voter suppression law. 220-208. Every Republican voted to disenfranchise millions. It now goes onto the Senate where Democrats will be able to block it.

I'm 18. The economy enters a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican president is responsible.

I'm 29. There is once-in-a-century pandemic that leads to a once-in-century-recession. A Republican is responsible.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

As much as Gabrielle didn't like to ride Argo in S1, all that walking would leave a girl pretty tired eventually...

A panel from an itty bitty Xena comic strip wip

I decided to keep this little project loose & somewhat messy as I know if I allow my perfectionist tenancies to take charge I will end up spending forever on it or just never finish it at all

This was such a cathartic experience from a teen xenite who used spend hours trying to edit the in-show shot to make them touch lips 🫡

Odds are Trump will try to privatize Social Security within the year.

And he may well get away with it, unless we can wake up enough people to this coming scam and put enough political pressure—particularly on Republicans—to prevent it from happening.

It starts with cutting staff at the Social Security Administration. That will sow confusion. Then it builds from there.

Elon Musk isn’t just trying to bypass all checks and balances, ignore popular will, plunder our public goods, and wreck the world. As we protest this vandalism, we need to remember that he aims to build a future in which we have nothing left to defend.

I know we talk about this constantly but it is truly one of the greatest mindfucks of my lifetime. as an 80s kid a Nazi was the most unambiguously, nonnegotiably evil thing you could even be ADJACENT TO, like morality for kindergarteners, and now we have to relitigate that shit every day???? ffs
need to invent a worse word for nazi bc ppl are not ashamed enough of being a nazi

At this point the controversy should be about the incredible cowardice of the media in not calling a Nazi a Nazi.
Steve Bannon whipped up the CPAC crowd by talking about the possibility of Trump staying in office for a third term—and concluded his speech by giving a provocative gesture that resembled the controversial salute Elon Musk gave at a post-inauguration rally last month.
