Any one of us could be in the next apartment building that ICE raids in the middle of the night.

Any one of us could be on the next boat that Trump bombs on a whim.

Any one of us could be detained for hours despite being a U.S. citizen.

Authoritarianism hurts all of us.

Republican family values: kidnapping and trafficking of children and their parents.
Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

Why bikes belong on the road: bike lanes aren't maintained or consistently implemented.

Bike lanes are yet another case of separate and unequal.

ICE is horrific...and also an extension of how policing has always worked, not a radical break from it.

The whole point of not committing war crimes:
Since I haven’t seen anyone mention this: When the U.S. commits war crimes it puts our troops in danger also, as it gives a green light to other countries that they can do the same to us

Big Oil is "wildly desperate to dodge the growing array of lawsuits over the damage caused by their decades-long scheme to deceive the public about climate change," writes @aaronregunberg.bsky.social.

The fossil fuel industry is again urging the Supreme Court to help them escape accountability.
The Supreme Court’s Ethics Code Is a Joke. Big Oil Knows That.
Oil companies want the Supreme Court to intervene to dismiss lawsuits about climate change. Amy Coney Barrett and Samuel Alito both have big conflicts of interest on that front.

"hundreds of perpetrators continue to walk free. By employing these tactics, predators will continue to use the societal silence and misperceptions to their advantage. If it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes a village to sexually exploit a child."

It's certainty.

These Karoline Leavitt "press conferences" are completely worthless propaganda full of shameless lies. They should be ignored by the media and all of us.
Q: You said that second strike was in accordance with the law of armed conflict, but the Navy's own manual says that firing on survivors from a wrecked vessel is an example of a war crime

LEAVITT: I would reiterate that the strike was conducted in accordance with the law of armed conflict
