They did this in the 70s when they "re-translated" the part about man lying with another man. If you go back to any foreign print Bible before then, it did not say the same thing. There was nothing in the Bible outlawing gay people. And, of course, in Biblical times, many people were at least bisex
Both of these were published in the last 14 months and are part of a larger right wing project designed to build the permission structure for Christians to embrace a selfish, cruel, and fascistic vision of Christianity by redefining one of the central teachings of the New Testament and Jesus Christ
