The Blocks continue to commit irreparable harm to print news in Pittsburgh. Thank you to all the intrepid staffers @pghcitypaper.com for your service to our community. 💔
Well folks, some news. Ownership is folding @pghcitypaper.com. I wish I could say this was more surprising. I'll be on the lookout for new roles while I continue to teach and hopefully find places to publish some stories I haven't finished. In the meantime, I'm all ears for opportunities.

The Pittsburgh Overpass Project is out there every week, and this week Santa is joining us! 🎅

Bring your pets or children for photos. No fees but if you are so inclined, a donation (on your own) to the Humane Animal Rescue would be welcome.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Be careful out there. 🌨️
There is a drastic uptick in the past 20 minutes of automobile drivers sliding into each other, parked cars, off the roadway, getting stuck on hills, and etc. Plan accordingly.

I made a Chrome extension that swaps Times New Roman for Calibri on every site or just .gov. It also had Open Sans and Open Dyslexic, because f**k these people.

I’m waiting for Google’s approval for it to install automatically, but you can download it and install it in 90 seconds. Instructions 👇

EXCLUSIVE: We found that Instacart is using AI algorithms to charge customers different prices for the same items.

It's not just online. It's in physical grocery stores too.

Our months-long investigation with @consumerreports.org and @groundwork.bsky.social found it could cost families $1200/year.

I’ve spent a lot of the last three years investigating the rise of anti-trans politics. Often, it came back to the controversy over trans women athletes.

So I teamed up with @pablo.show to look into the leading figure on the issue: Riley Gaines.
