The Allegheny County Jail celebrated Veterans Day by welcoming several veteran-focused organizations to the facility for a presentation to inspire and motivate incarcerated individuals who served our country.

Jacks Run Road will be closed between Balsam Street and Aspen Trail in Ross from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily starting on Wednesday, November 19. The closure, which is expected to end later this week or early next week, is required for replacement of a stormwater pipe. Learn more: bit.ly/3JJpCBj

Baldwin Street in Bridgeville has reopened to traffic. The closure, which began on October 27, was required for sediment removal, concrete repairs, and other miscellaneous work at McLaughlin Run Bridge No. 6. Learn more: bit.ly/49YyMo1

The northbound lane of Thompson Run Road in Ross at Thompson Run North Side Bridge No. 2 has reopened to traffic. The bridge is located just north of Evergreen Road. The lane closure, which began on October 27, was required for repairs to a bridge abutment. Learn more: bit.ly/3LwNjNO

The Department of Public Works has granted permits to P3R to close the Andy Warhol (Seventh Street) Bridge and the David McCullough (16th Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler & 10K. The closures will be from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 9.

The TAILS Program at the Allegheny County Jail is celebrating another successful adoption!

Lola, a mixed-breed female, joined the TAILS Program in August, where she worked with handlers to become more confident and trusting of humans.

The vast majority of mail-in ballots have now been scanned and data has been uploaded for tabulation. Results will post shortly after 8 pm.

The approx. 120,000 mail in ballots returned so far have been removed from inner envelopes and are now being scanned for tabulation. Most of the approx. 100 county staff that were at the warehouse to open envelopes and ballots has been sent home for the day.

All polling locations are open and functioning. A water main break was reported outside of Baker Elementary which is a polling place in Upper St Clair. Water service was temporarily cut to the building. American Water is aware of the issue and working to restore water service now.

Thursday, October 30, marked Election Day for eligible voters at the Allegheny County Jail. More than 60 incarcerated voters cast their vote by absentee ballots.

The polling place for Duquesne Districts 3-1 and 3-3 has been moved to the Orchard Park Apartments Office at 1001 Ridge St., Duquesne, PA 15110.

Ballot Return Sites will open starting October 31, through November 3. Ballot return sites are staffed locations where voters who received a mail-in or absentee ballot can return ballots in person.

The polling place for Swissvale Districts 0-7 and 0-8 at the Swissvale Senior Citizen Center (adjacent to the Swissvale Library) will be open on Election Day.

Although the Senior Citizen Center remains closed due to construction, voters can access the polling area via a designated, accessible path.
