Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Two-thirds of Democrats say their own party makes them feel frustrated. By far the most commonly cited reason is that the party is not pushing back hard enough against Trump. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

So if there is a bill to extend the subsidies is Marjorie Taylor Greene voting for it and will she get the others in GOP who are vulnerable--and there are a bunch--to vote for it, publicly calling them out? And does this mean the House is back and Epstein files released?

They “kept leadership informed” and notice she doesn’t answer his question re: if leadership made a big push to stop them.

We in fact have no evidence Schumer tried to stop them, just his “I’m voting no.” Not very convincing.
KILMEADE: Schumer says he's voting no. Did you do this outside leadership?

SHAHEEN: No. We kept leadership informed throughout.

Schumer doesn’t get that, after the outrage in March, the only thing that would redeem him was not giving votes to the GOP this time, sticking it out until they caved.

He thinks he gets points for sticking it out for while this time. But that’s not how it works. The anger is now ten times greater.

Do we believe his family won’t buy another pardon from Trump?

“In the final hours of President Trump’s first term, a violent felon used his family’s ties to Mr. Trump’s son-in-law to receive the deal of a lifetime.”

But now he sexually assaulted a nanny.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

After the public blamed the GOP and Trump, and after the Dem blowout on Tuesday, Schumer is surrendering and, in the process, the Dems will be blamed for not caving earlier and having the country go through all this.

In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

serious question: who are they negotiating with - who are they being "bipartisan" with?

Thune doesn't run the show. Trump already said he's Speaker. He's Senate Majority Leader too

Keep seeing Susan Collins name pop up. Any Dem who thinks they can rely on her is beyond delusional
