Refreshingly brisk on farming & inheritance tax from Guy Singh-Watson, hitherto owner of Riverford Farm. Riverford, now owned by its employees, had a turnover of £113m in 2023-24 and made a profit of £5.7m. He’s been awarded farmer of the year by the BBC twice.

I am still semi-convinced that if we rejoin the EU it will be driven by an argument that it will reduce migration.
One odd thing that is left out of the small boats discourse is how much the problem was directly caused by Conservative policy – specifically Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal.

Six years ago I asked the Scottish Environment Protection Agency for files on radioactive problems at the Clyde nuclear bomb bases. After three more #FoI requests, multiple reviews, two appeals and opposition from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), they released them.
