When not winning the argument, not only does Maga intimidate and persecute opponents, it works hard to rig elections. It is the only way it can hold power. That is the heart of despotism.
The targeting of Mark Kelly isn’t politics...it’s the sick new normal created by a movement that can’t win arguments, only intimidate. When public servants become targets, freedom isn’t next in line… it’s already in danger. Fortunately, the outrage is intensifying rapidly.

Why stereotypes are dangerous: On my walk, I passed a house with a large fenced yard. There was a lot of happy noise and I could see pavilions set up. As I rounded the corner, an African-American wedding party came out toward the trail to take photos. The irony – the owner of the house is MAGA.

If you’re confused by what is happening with the Epstein investigation and looking for a “silver lining” with the House vote, check this out.
(Hint: it’s not looking good for Trump)
A quick reminder for all who suffered the wilful neglect of history & government lessons in their school years:

It took 783 days from the Watergate burglary for Nixon to resign, & in between he was re-elected.

In that time, evidence was uncovered & released bit-by-bit, lost, & leaked.

Looking at the comments, let’s get it straight: THE Democrats did not cave. It was only SEVEN Democrats. What remains clear is that Schumer is weak. Can you imagine that happening under Harry Reid? Or Pelosi in the House?
Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

Mind boggling.
The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

Preach it Gov!
Love him or hate him, he understands the way the game is played now and he's playing it better than anyone else.

Call ‘em out Newsom!!

Fact
John Roberts and his miserable excuse for a high court of justice are presiding over a great disassembling of the United States and the rare American experiment in government by its people. It began with Citizens United and it continues relentlessly. This is a second civil war in slow motion.

Nice. There’s #surf, #punk, surf-punk, #country, and cow-punk.

I’m in my twilight years and ai so want to put together surf-country-punk band before I’m.

I’ve actually heard Marty Stuart touch on that sound.

Any other bands?

Finally, getting around to reading volume three of That Texas Blood. The best graphic novel I’ve ever read – noir, western, suspense I’ve ever read in this form.

Jim Jordon has never met a lie he couldn’t tell (or amplify).
NEW: Jim Jordan wants to question Jack Smith about his search of Mar-a-Lago, but Merrick Garland executed that search months before Jack Smith was even appointed. One of several lies in this letter demanding Jack Smith's testimony. judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

It’s difficult sitting in the pew with someone who is cheering the terrorizing large segments of our society.
Pope Leo says that American bishops need to be more vocal and support migrant communities from being abducted by ICE in US cities

"Important that we as church give a message of hope in the midst of these horrible struggles, what's going on in some cities in the US"

"The church cannot be silent"

CA - YES ON 50! Dont let anyone tell you “Texas & Missouri redistricting have nothing to do with CA”. When Republicans give House Republicans more seats to tip the scales for a Republican House majority - IT AFFECTS EVERYONE IN THE NATION who are subject to R legislation/cuts/funding!

Plain truth: if Democrats go along with the Republican bill, it’s a capitulation to everything ugly they have passed on a non-partisan basis.

“The law doesn’t matter anymore” is obeying in advance.
I know it's frustrating when lawyers point out when something the administration is doing is not legal. But responding with "the law doesn't matter anymore" is really unhelpful and defeatist. Clarifying the law is important because it reminds us not to comply in advance and to resist and take action
