Just so I'm clear: Trans women are women. Trans men are men. I won't debate this, and I won't hear bullshit arguments. Bathroom bans are bigotry and ignorance. And that's fucking it.

The fact that anyone, anywhere, ever, that gives a fuck about diamonds/rubies/etc. actually CARES whether or not their stone is natural or lab grown is the ultimate testament to human irrationality.

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

I finally had some of the 7-Up Shirley Temple flavor and: what the hell is this? It tastes nothing like grenadine *or* cherry syrup. It's just weirdly sweet with this underlying cream soda flavor and no cherry or pomegranate at all. How can you fuck up something so simple *this badly*?

In case there are newer knitters who feel bad about how long it takes them to do something, I've just had to pick up the sleeve stitches for my top down raglan 5 times. I've been doing this for 15 years.

Every decade, we hear "the kids can't read or write!"

Interventions that don't work are proposed. Those that do work are ignored: reducing class sizes, making kids & families feel safe at school and welcome, becoming a community resource.

When their expensive reform fails, they yell at us again.

Dear newer knitters: from time to time, you are going to buy yarn you hate. I absolve you from having to use it. You can destash that shit. You do not need to keep it and continue trying to use it. If you bought too much of something, if you can't stand the texture, whatever. Just destash it.

So the streamer Ludwig recently found out that one of his earliest regular viewers, who was trans, passed away and tonight he's doing a charity stream for the Trevor Project. So far he's raised over $46,000 in about 5 hours. www.twitch.tv/ludwig

I love how the people who are always "BUT THE CHILDREN" have now decided that girls 15 and up are no longer a part of that demographic. They join trans kids, "illegal" kids, black kids, non-Christian kids, Palestinian kids. Huh. I wonder who that leaves.

If you too have to choose between cheese and butter on a toasted cheese sandwich, freeze your bread. Put two slices on a piece of parchment. Cover with shredded cheese. Put in toaster oven on Toast for 4-5 minutes. Result is better than dry toasting in a pan.

Something that would help people buy a house is setting a maximum interest rate on a 30 year mortgage, not introducing a 50 year mortgage that will do nothing but make banks richer.

People don’t want to feel like entrepreneurs when it comes to their healthcare.

They don’t want it to feel like big business.

They want their tax dollars to cover it for everyone.

They want to show up for care, get it and go home.

No bills. No payment plans. No negotiating. Just care.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Please put the Working Families Party in your mouth. They did wonders with Mamdani’s campaign. We saw how quickly his rise to collective awareness was in less than six months.

We can do that too, people. Everywhere. We hold the power. Screw Establishment Dems. Their time is over. It’s our turn now.

It is the year of our lord 2025 and Windows still can't fucking open the goddamned program on the screen I am motherfucking on when I'm using multiple screens. I also can't move my fucking task bar to the side of my fucking screen without a secondary program. But I can have AI I don't fucking want.

Bacon of Knowledge of Good and Evil is definitely a cursed magical item.
I am going through old sketchbooks before I shove them into another closet and am somewhat bemused by the notes I wrote to my future self.

“pecked to death by iron-eyed albatrosses”

“Archaeopteryx girl at the cliffs of oolong”

“Eve tastes the Bacon of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.”

So I bought yarn today. Haven't in a while, so I'm pretty excited. Jimmy Beans sent a text about the Lana Grossa sale and I hopped on to grab Setasuri in Cream and Soffio in Rust Brown. Both will go with something I already have to become sweaters. The Soffio is for old and precious stash.

Well, I have a new ball of yarn, a 108 stitch cast on, and I'm currently doing plain 1x1 ribbing for as long as I can stand it. I have no plan. I'm making this shit up as we go along. Fuck patterns.

This is what happens when you know enough to go it alone and replace annoyance with hubris.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Another one I see all the time in tabletop roleplaying. All demographic info we have right now points to about an even split between genders (with a not insignificant number of nonbinary players). Yet you still get dudes who say women don't play RPGs.

My dude...they don't play WITH YOU.
