Great to be invited to missing lynx dinner last night. At the top of society people want change that helps nature. Ordinary folk and kids are also enthusiastic. The systems we have in place in Britain just don't deliver. All to often their only function is to say no.

Did u know? We mustn't all panic this season when aphids appear in our gardens. Leave these little sap suckers be, because they're re food for everything else - Ladybirds, Lacewings & Wasps AND they feed young nestlings. Don't spray, celebrate. Whoop! 🙌🌱🌿🌍🪲🐦‍⬛🐙

The reason I haven’t written for ages is that I appear to have fallen into one of my own novels but in real life. Our community is trying to save our bay from exploitation of adventure tourism -but we are fighting authorities who should be looking after it.
Will exploitation or wildlife win?

This is excellent news. Let's hope the £17-£20 million saved from the national police budget is used to chase down those certificate-holding gamekeepers who continue to illegally shoot and kill birds of prey in the UK.

There's some brilliant work being done to tackle hare coursing, fox hunting, raptor persecution....but still much to do. Some police forces need to step up and we need genuine interest & support from Govt, not just lip service.

This is so mistaken and perverse. We need a BAN on driven grouse shooting. Not licensing, which gives a stamp of approval to an activity that will always be destructive and cruel.
What is the RSPB for?
We need grouse moor licensing in England now.

It's time for new legislation to make it happen.
It is a Time for Change in places like the Dark Peak. Grouse moor licensing can be a win-win solution to what so many are calling for - sustainable land management and more nature in our uplands.
