I recently realized I need to repeat this as much as possible, particularly in San Francisco’s case, Trolley Buses have been ZERO emission for 90 years (since inception). BEBs would not only reduce efficiency but potentially increase dirty energy use. Everywhere should be returning to trolley buses.
Transit agencies trying to get rid of Trolleybuses and replace them with BEBs should have reevaluations of their leadership.

It seems bad that only $668 million of California's $31 billion transportation budget is for public transit capital projects next year.

HSR gets another $798 million.

$1.45 billion out of $31 billion. It's a hidden form of climate arson.
The 2025-26 California Spending Plan: Transportation
In this post, we summarize some of the most notable components of transportation program budgets in the 2025-26 spending plan.

The city should buy this portfolio and leverage Prop I revenue to make it happen. This would be consistent with the vision of the voters, the BOS, and our office in passing Prop I in 2020. Let’s seize the opportunity to jumpstart a real social housing program and do this now!

The main goal of transit is moving people. Collecting fares is how society has currently chosen to partially fund that. But the new gate and reader system puts fares over moving people. And that indicates a loss of mission focus on everyone's part.

When cops "clean up encampments," the result is that a nonzero number of unhoused people will die from that violence enacted on them; what do you THINK happens to people already barely clinging to existence when you do that to them?

We really gotta reevaluate a society where some of its "environmental" advocates are more concerned about the *potential* cost savings of automating public transit drivers than the environmental and social impact of the technology required to do that, assuming it is possible.

Rebuild the Key System!!!

That includes the bridge lanes
every stroad in east bay that used to have streetcars on it needs a road diet, whether you do that through bus lanes or greenery or wider sidewalks or protected bike lanes i dont care, there's no reason these wide dangerous roads should continue to exist

Citing the apparent success of the idea as seen in the state’s regional transit systems, a pair of Bay State congressional delegates are pushing for fare-free public transportation nationwide.

TBC, I’ve been mentioning how progressive taxation is both more popular and nets more funds to SamTrans for over a year, even worked with Bay Area Forward on how to get the message out there, but SamTrans leaders pretend sales tax is the option because they’re all car drivers
A gross receipts tax, structured to be progressive, is not only more equitable but polls better: It's likelier to pass than a sales tax. The legislature should allow the flexibility to pursue a GRT for transit.
A sales tax hike isn’t the way to save Bay Area’s public transportation. Here’s what should be done
OPINION: “There’s a better solution for funding transit that actually works for working people, not one that adds to their daily burden.”

"Left NIMBY" as a term is largely a strawman to erase many genuine concerns. The video ignores countless studies showing evidence of market-rate development not working and much history of where these problems have been solved. This propaganda serves corporations, not people.
