“the USPS must turn a profit” makes me want to set things on fire

they put a clause in the fucking constitution about postal service, that’s how important it is

nothing in there about “only if you can make money on it”
🚨SCOOP: Amazon is preparing to sever ties with USPS and expand its shipping network as a true coast-to-coast rival.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

USPS posted a *$9 billion* loss in 2025.

Here's an incredible election result that's being slept on: Duluth passed a first-in-the-state Tenants Right to Repair ordinance! TakeAction MN and its ascendant Duluth Tenants Union fought hard for this ballot question and won a huge victory for tenants rights in a market which really needs it

So Danielle Miller, who purposely cast a fraudulent vote for Trump, has to write a 10-page essay, and Crystal Mason got 5 years in prison (overturned by appeals court, thank god) for casting a *provisional* ballot with the help of a poll worker. Do I have that right?
A Minnesota woman who cast her dead mother's ballot for Trump in 2024 must write an essay on voting
A Minnesota woman convicted of filling out and submitting a mail-in ballot for her deceased mother was ordered by a judge to write an essay and read a book about voting’s importance to democracy.

Is there anything more disappointing than picking up a to-go order and then when you get home find they didn't include an item in your order? I realize this is the smallest stupidest problem one can have in life. Nevertheless! That's never stopped me from complaining before, and it won't now.

As the people who insist otherwise try to burn the country, it's important to affirm that immigrants, from everywhere, are awesome, and America is better the more immigrants we have. You have to be just empty and vapid and unimaginably small to reject that.

I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.

The mass starvation & killing of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli gov’t is a chillul hashem, a desecration of God.

Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesn’t use should raise their voices loudly here as well.

Gaza is starving. Where are the American Jewish leaders?
A fear of being labelled antisemitic still deters American Jews and Jewish institutions from taking a position that is morally correct.

This whole thread INTO MY VEINS. It's possible that AI can be effectively used in the future for legal research. But LLMs, large language models, which is what ChatGPT is, which literally guesses what words/content you want to see even if it's not true, can NEVER effectively be used that way. FFS.
Finally, we’re getting some attorneys getting referred for discipline for using ChatGPT for legal research.

The attorneys in question, ofc, are counsel for the Alabama Department of Corrections.
Although I'm not sure this is much of a punishment. I hope plaintiff's lawyers also move for fees (which wouldn't be PLRA capped, btw).

I am blown away that he managed to put together a full hour of stand-up about breaking news and it's somehow polished and funny as hell.

Give it a watch and share it.
