I have approximately zero following on this app, sharing in the hopes it can get in front of the right person. A man I went to college with’s wife was kidnapped by ICE at a green card hearing, and he’s trying to find a reporter who will speak to him about the situation

At this point abolishing ICE and reforming the Supreme Court have to be non-negotiables for every 2028 Dem.

If you have fears about homeless people in your neighborhood, I advise that you go talk to them. Bring a handful of twenties, if you can afford it, hand them out and talk to them like human beings.

You’ll stop feeling as scared and start feeling sad and angry that people have to suffer needlessly.

Many, many, MANY studies show that the cumulative costs of harassing homeless people—cops, prison, jail, etc—are much more expensive than just housing them and providing income, and that doing those things helps people get to the point where they’re not in crisis any longer.

We choose cruelty.

It’s only luck this didn’t happen in Seattle. SPD haphazardly blocked off some parade route intersections, leaving others wide open. The massive squadrons of cops mustered to protect bigots and gas queer kids days earlier shrunken to a handful of lackadaisically deployed squad cars.

hell, everyone should go on the El Salvador trip

now’s the time, folks, this road ends with you in the foreign prison

One of hundreds of people abducted by ICE and sold to slavery in El Salvador was a 19 year old with no criminal record in the US or Venezuela and no tattoos of any kind.

An ICE kidnapper who grabbed him outside his house said, "He's not the one."

The other said, "Take him anyway."

So they did.

Pretty sure JB Pritzker is gonna run for president. He’s a good choice for a lot of reasons — I say this is a lifelong Illinois resident. One big reason to boost him & this speech: he has not & will not throw the trans community under the bus for alleged political gain (that would never arrive)
"Let's not take the soul-sucking path of sacrificing the most persecuted for that which we deem to be most popular. I know that there are transgender children right now looking out at this world and wondering if anyone is going to stand up for them and for their simple right to exist. Well, I am."

1/7 The current president was voted in by vowing to deport drug smugglers, criminals and rapists. Instead, only a few weeks into this term, people are being swept up and detained without legal cause. No notice to their families, no way for lawyers to find them.

I know cruelty is the point but… man this one is just especially ghoulish. They say they’re doing this to “protect the kids” but it’s always been so painfully obvious what the truth is. The want trans kids to die, to disappear, to be erased.

like if you wanna be a hero, you need to tell people who the villain is
I've spent a lifetime on political messaging. I've written more political scripts than I can count. My advice to Dems (that I honestly could rarely get people to do) is to name-call. We need name-calling. It's not enough to say what's happening is bad. Who's responsible and what do you think of them

Especially over the last few weeks, our political leaders have have stressed that "violence is never the answer." But every day of 2024, it was the only one they gave us. I wrote a bit about this year @jezebeldotcom.bsky.social:
We're Told 'Violence Is Never the Answer.' In 2024, It Was the Only Answer We Got.
This year—between the genocide in Gaza, the reelection of a sexual predator, and endless abortion ban horror stories—we watched prevailing narratives about the sanctity of human life fall apart.

My neighbours are angry they have to look at him. Meanwhile it’s -11 tonight and it’ll be -20 tomorrow

I’m bedbound & can’t do anything to help…so I sent a warm meal via Uber 🧵

2020 was a legal and valid election; Trump’s lawsuits failed; Stefanik (plus 146 Rs) voted to toss Biden electors.
