A new long COVID study of over 1,000 children—472 under age 2 and 539 aged 3–5—found that 41% of toddlers and 45% of preschoolers who had COVID had at least one lasting symptom. It’s the first study of its kind in this age range.

I cannot stress enough how much of a Def Con 1 moment this is. Federal judges fear that the President of the United States will stand down security for judges in retaliation for adverse decisions.

This is such a huge story.
This should be seen as evidence of the crisis: federal judges fear that Trump will order U.S. Marshals to stand down on securing the safety of judges whose decision they don’t like. This is just devastating.

Important to note here that he was not arrested while protesting. He was arrested while attempting to perform his job and inspect the facility. Something neither the operator or ICE can legally stop. Please report on this correctly and stop defaulting to Fox News talking points.

Missed this great piece on international egg smuggling when it came out last weekend.

Unsurprisingly, fentanyl is not flowing freely into the US over Canada’s southern border but precious affordable H5N1-free eggs from No Frills are.

Proof H5N1 can also be food-borne.

Fish can be infected by EATING bird flu. This isn't open for debate. It's science fact. It's literally the ONLY transmission route. They didn't breathe it. They didn't handle it. They didn't get it from cooking. They ATE it.

Bird flu is mutating, but antivirals still work for now
One of the earliest strains of bird flu isolated from a human in Texas shows a unique constellation of mutations that enable it to more easily replicate in human cells and cause more severe disease in mice compared to a strain found in dairy cattle, researchers from Texas Biomedical Research Institute (Texas Biomed) report in Emerging Microbes & Infections.

This would be a horrifying pick for trans people. He's responsible for Florida's adult trans ban, and works with SEGM/Anti-trans global movement.

He's also an ardent anti-vaxxer.

99.8% survival rate would still mean 670,000 dead Americans if everyone were infected. In fact, the actual number is >1.2 million so far, more than all combat deaths in every American war since 1775 combined.
Why should we care about a virus with a "99.8% survival rate"?

This thread highlights the actual impact a virus with a high survival rate can have on the population and why it is all the people who survive that we should be most worried about. 🧪🧵1/
