Fantastic resource for historians: a spreadsheet of NARA's digitized microfilm, with links to the files in the Archives catalog. May it help you as much as it has helped me.

One weird indignity of being a feminist in America is not just that a belief in women’s inferiority is part of the political mainstream, but that the violence of those who hold that belief is considered unremarkable.
I did clinic defense in New Haven when I was 18 and yes, the protesters there did not physically hurt anyone those time, but when you galvanize people to get as close as possible to vulnerable people and scream “murderer and baby killer” at them, the pathway to violence is very short.

Black people don’t count as working class in the UK because, when they express concern for their health and safety due to racist policies, they are sneering and looking down on “the ordinary voter” - who is always white and simultaneously above them and beneath them in society.
Enraging to have grown up around working class black people who came to the UK and broke themselves for it only to be told that their host nation still has “legitimate concerns” about them being there.

Why is this still the framing rather than you shouldn’t be deporting anyone there? It’s obvious that criminality is something that they can determine whenever and however they want, but it feels like immigration views here have gone so hard right that you can’t even push back against the act itself.
