Trump refused to send disaster aid to Chicago after 2 devastating storms

The destruction caused by the summer storms was enough that past presidents likely would have approved requests for federal assistance, former FEMA officials said.

Sure sounds like aid and comfort to our enemies to me.
Meanwhile in Russia: state media hosts and experts praised Trump's 28-point "peace plan," noting that it's in perfect alignment with Russia's goals and does not take Ukraine's interests into account.

Somehow MARK SANFORD ends up looking like the reasonable one here.

That’d be like Marjorie Taylor Greene telling people “hey, cool it with the conspiracy theories.”

Watching The Sound of Music tonight, and when Max says, by way of explanation to the children for what’s happening, that “everyone’s cross these days.”

Feels familiar.

At a recent gathering of Rogers Park volunteers, we heard from a neighbor who choked up telling us about their dad turning around and going home when he heard whistles up the street. "One of you may have saved his life that day." It all matters, it really does.
One thing that is tough about rapid response/patrols, besides constantly being threatened by armed secret police, is that for the most part they see the defeats. There are exceptions, but you’ll never know how many people were saved by slowing feds down, whistles, community alerts, etc.

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

The more Lizza writes the more he indicts himself in serious ethical lapses but there are a lot of editors and publishers who are complicit here, too.

The whole thing is just gross.

(And shout out to the serious journalists who do good work. You deserve better peers and a healthier industry.)

If we are doing this, we are also going to make all interstates tollways in Milwaukee County. 😡

This is some scary shit you guys. Two pillars of the community—middle aged white guys no less—arrested because some off duty cop bastard sitting several booths away in a restaurant claims to have heard them “plotting against law enforcement.” We’re in the “ears everywhere, trust no one” stage of it.

Why the fuck are @waymo.bsky.social human drivers parking in the fucking bike lane on Day 1?
Yeah. I saw one this morning, parked on 28th St, just east of 10th Ave S, where the hospital construction ends. The Waymo was actually parked IN the bike lane, grr.

"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Sorry, but this is not enough. The Democratic Senators' posts/videos about the outrageous Thing also need to go the next step & demand his immediate impeachment & removal. No, it won't happen. Doesn't matter. Normalize enforcing the rule of law & the Constitution. Articulate what must be done.
I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

New conspiracy theory just dropped:

What if peer review, committee meetings, strategic plans, promotion & tenure processes, and letter-writing requests are all part of a secret plot to keep smart, creative, active minds from thinking and writing the big ideas that would *really* change the world?

Shame on every one of these institutions.
Badge of dishonor: “Among the universities recommended to remain in the program are Columbia University, MIT, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia and University of Texas at Austin.”
It’s an honor for GW to be on this list of schools to be banned from State Dept programs for having decent hiring and ethical practices. Hope it stays that way. Complying with Trump’s bigoted demands and open racism is shameful.

Pope Leo has now repeatedly made clear that he believes US corporate media's coverage of the Trump immigration war is not professionally responsible or correct and that it accepts Trump's pretexts for action as truth whereas they are palpable lies.
