Comet Lemmon and the Milky Way apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap25112...
What did Comet Lemmon look like when it was at its best? One example is pictured here, featuring three celestial spectacles all at different distances. The closest spectacle is the snowcapped Meili Mountains of the Himalayas in China.

I love it when everybody is talking about something horrifying but no sign of the source is on my feed, it's like using the gravity of unseen objects to make speculation about bodies in space

Gender clinics are a scam, change my mind.

My contention:
GI diagnosis is a half page questionnaire
Treatment is a protocol so simple a child could follow it
Any issues are referred out

It's a collosal grift, GPs could do it all in their sleep

The “militant” fantasies of marginalized people always boil down to living away from cishet White men because the militant fantasies of cishet White men revolve explicitly around killing, enslaving, and violating marginalized people, especially BIWOC.

This is a deadly, infectious soul sickness.
Gavin and Tanner, planned and trained for nearly a year, legal documents say, in an elaborate attempt to invade a Haitian island, kill its Black men, enslave its Black women and Black children and fulfill their "rape fantasies."

If you're a cis person looking for ways to connect with the Trans Day of Remembrance, here's a list of suggestions:

1) Money. Give money to trans people. Especially to black trans people. Save the speeches and the somber memes. Give. Money. Not to the Trevor Project, to trans people.

End of list.

I'm not incredibly active here, but if you're trans/enby and reading this: I'm glad you're here. I hope you get to do something you enjoy today. I wish I could talk with all of you and hear your wonderful unique stories, but just know I care. Please look after yourselves 🖤

A reminder to you, the trans person reading this, that if you've ever self-harmed, self-medicated, or been suicidal, it's because you're coping with a violently transphobic world.

You are perfect. You are a testament to the power of human spirit. You deserve to be here. You deserve love.

So much 'gender critical' nonsense boils down to "im normal, so i deserve to be prioritised" which is manifestly an overwhelmingly abnormal thing to say.

What people who say “transgender cissexual” are doing is this

1. take Jaynice Raymond’s “transsexual empire” and use “transgender” the way she uses “transsexual”

2. take “Whipping Girl” and willfully misread it so “transsexual” is someone who transitions medically and “cissexual” is anyone else

Thank you to the Cap Times for a powerful conversation about our campaign, the importance of representation, and the need for transformative, progressive leadership to meet this moment.
Madison alder could be first transgender member of Legislature
Madison City Council Ald. Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford would replace state Rep. Francesca Hong. Former Ald. Juliana Bennett also is running for the Assembly seat.

This is something that cannot be stressed enough. The reason it might sometimes look like the political left is rife with disagreement is specifically because it allows for diversity and disagreement to exist. There isn't a one-size-fits-all. Ongoing discussion is part of the package, it's healthy.
"purity tests" "circular firing squad" "the left eat their own" are such bullshit phrases.

people disagree on politics! that's how it works.

deal with it instead of whining about marginalized people correctly pointing out that certain "compromises" only strengthens fascism

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

Transness is not bourgeois. This is a wedge idea dreamed up by some gleefully amoral think tank lobotomite to split trans people and make us fight each other. That we relay on modern medicine doesn't make us any more bourgeois than someone who needs antidepressants or cleft palate repair.

"oh you want to do that thing? You should just talk to your loved ones about wanting to do the thing then"
I've heard rumors of two different "poly coaches" lately and I've decided that this should be my new career pivot. I have zero relevant professional training and my primary advice will likely be either "have you tried being normal about it" or "sounds like you actually want to do monogamy"

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
