They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.

Green: I will suffer whatever the consequences are because I don't believe in the richest country in the world people should be without good health care. I stood up for my constituents then. I'm standing up for them now. I would do it again.

Why would you want to subjugate your fellow human beings when mangoes and Moonstruck exists? What made you so hostile toward your own pleasure? Honestly, don’t answer that, the response would probably be flavorless.

Ida Wells was born in enslavement with her family and later emancipated. She became an anti-lynching crusader who used the power of journalism to raise awareness about the most extreme horrors of life under Jim Crow.

When there's a flicker of recognition in my mother's eyes and she calls me by name. Makes my whole day.

On the lighter side, I also love a perfectly made cup of coffee and when my dog snuggles me.
Fuck your complaints. What’s something you love?

Alright, writers. Take a cue from Lynch: go be your weird damn selves and leave some fucking art in this world before you're gone.

We gotta reject “Well, RFK jr. is right about some things” and accept “if we don’t confront the real problems with our systems, it becomes much easier for con artists like this guy to manipulate people.”

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

A reminder that all this “echo chamber” talk is an attempt to continue to normalize hate speech as legitimate political opinion we are simply not open to engaging with, making the failure of the conversation ours rather than, you know, the racist, sexist pieces of shit who are absolutely not normal.

I'm going to start a podcast called "Have a Second Thought" where we ask the question, "Did you have a second thought?" Because what is the point of publishing 8,000 pieces of slop in a year? Why do they think publishing is an industry that needs disruption? I think these fine fellows just saw $$$
One of the chief problems with “tech disrupters” is when they aren’t aware that the thing they’re disrupting has long been disrupted. Online sellers have been awash in AI slop for years. It has simply trained the audience to recognize AI slop when they see it. Like when it’s BRANDED AI slop, Spines.
