when i saw Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse, my first thought was "oh wow, it's cool that cg animation studios have finally realized that not everything has to look like Pixar"
but apparently the actual lesson was "we can make everything look like into The Spider-verse"

Australia's humpback whales are doing so well that their population is expected to reach carrying capacity and plateau in the near future--they have not just reached but exceeded pre-whaling numbers. For this to happen with such a long-lived, slow-reproducing species is near miraculous. #goodnews
These whales were hunted to 150 individuals. Now there are 50,000 of them
Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.

Los Angeles' A line is now the longest light rail line in the world, if the Bay Area had something this long, it would run all the way from San Jose to San Francisco.
LA Metro’s A Line is now almost 60 miles long. 😲

Where would you place a 60-mile light rail line in Chicago?

Sorry but when she’s right she’s right. The Departed tells the same story as Infernal Affairs in twice the runtime. Don’t think there’s a single change or addition I like, and I generally think Scorsese can do no wrong
On a plane and trying to give The Departed another chance b/c so many people love this movie and my memory of it is that is that it is overbloated meh.

so far...I'm sticking with my take.

Love when the detective seems to have solved the crime, everything is cleanly resolved, only for a little detail from a seemingly unrelated case earlier in the story to unravel a deeper mystery

A condition known as alpha-gal syndrome is changing the way many people shop, cook and eat on Martha’s Vineyard, an island long known as a food-lover’s retreat. A single tick bite can leave people with this life-threatening allergy to most meat and dairy.
Why Is Martha’s Vineyard Going Vegan? It’s All About Tick Bites.
Islanders’ diets are being upended by an onslaught of alpha-gal syndrome, a tick-induced allergy to meat and dairy.
