We live now in a world in which insularity is a choice. Excusing ignorance in Republican voters is insulting to those who have little free time, freedom, or money and yet still choose to learn, even when it hurts.

If you’re interested in films that address the confluence of toxic masculinity, violence, homophobia, and transphobia, check out Femme (2023). It’s streaming on HULU in the US.
Warning: It’s intense.

If I were running for president I'd mention in every speech and debate that I intend to seize every asset owned by the Trump family and use it on restarting USAID and immigrant/asylum-seeker protection and naturalization programs, just to see if I can make that fucker so mad his head pops.

If your knee jerk reaction to these numbers is to say, “Dems suck. But hey, a few Republicans did the right thing!” please fuck off.
Republicans voting against the felony national trans youth healthcare ban were Brian Fitzpatrick (PA), Gabe Evans (CO), Michael Lawler (NY), Mike Kennedy (UT).

Dems voting FOR the felony ban were Henry Cueller (TX), Vincente Gonzalez (TX), Don Davis (NC).

Unbelievable. This would be a terrible blow to American science, writ large. It would decimate not only climate research, but also the kind of weather, wildfire, and disaster research that has underpinned half a century of progress in prediction, early warning, and increased resilience.
Exclusive: The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

Yes, yes, and yes.
Some takeaways from the Susie Wiles interview in no particular order. 1) Before anyone congratulates her on telling the truth, we must first acknowledge that when it comes to the craziest and most unqualified cabinet members...she absolutely fucking loves it because deep state something something.

1/2 The late Rob Reiner (May his memory be for a blessing) directed a lot of great films. But I first knew of him from All In The Family. He played Mike. His onscreen father-in-law Archie Bunker was a bigot who, over the course of the series, was forced to learn unwelcome things about himself.

I saw the headline about Rob and Michele Reiner and at first thought it was a hoax. I expected to click and see that they’d appeared in some film or other together.

It’s inconceivable that it’s real.😭

The Arc de Triomphe was commissioned to honor Napoleon in 1806. By the time construction had really begun in earnest, Napoleon had suffered a disastrous military defeat and had been forced into exile.
Trump: We’re building an arc like the Arc de Triomphe. It will be like the one in Paris but it blows it away.

Knives Out 3 “Wake Up, Dead Man” is a very good UK Cozy Mystery, filmed in England, with two British leads (Daniel Craig and Josh O’Connor) and lots of echoes of Grantchester in it.
