The United States has recorded its highest annual measles cases in 33 years. The milestone marks a public health reversal in defeating a highly contagious, vaccine-preventable disease as the anti-vaccine movement gains strength.
U.S. measles cases reach 33-year record high as outbreaks spread
Johns Hopkins University data reflects the public health reversal in defeating the vaccine-preventable disease since measles was officially eliminated from the U.S. in 2000.

When I was little, my Mom always gave money to panhandlers

Sometimes she would go buy a hot meal or coffee too

My Dad disagreed. He was sure they were “faking”

I asked Mom about it & she said if she has it to spare, she would rather give & be wrong than not give & have someone suffer

I miss her

“Bluesky isn’t worth it because it doesn’t have the same user numbers as Insta/TT”

Babe. I don’t know how to say this but, Twitter never did either. This is because it’s a text based social vs an image based social and unfortunately most people nowadays can’t read very good.

🚨This🚨

My mom always told me "If you don't want kids, then don't have kids. That's ok."

I work with them. I spoil my friends' kids. I admire all the moms in my life. I babysit for free. I run errands for my mom friends, and attend birthday parties & school plays. I was born to be ✨Aunt Erin✨
It’s wild that people don’t understand how a woman can like kids but not want them. Like, of course I am happy to talk to and watch out for this little weird person that someone I love created, but that doesn’t mean I want one. Stop devaluing the importance of aunts goddamnit

A good article about understanding yourself a little better than you did the day before. Also a reminder that autistic people were always there, it's just that many of us - including many autistic folks - didn't have a vocabulary or medical knowledge to describe it.

An autism diagnosis helped Laurie Penny make sense of their experiences, but its real value was in helping them understand the rest of society
