Very proud of the first of my two countries today! Good job, people! I think we picked the right person for the job 😌❤️🇨🇦 So nice to hear a leader speak with ethics, equilibrium, and intelligence about bringing a country together rather than driving people apart. #CanadaStrong

Goodbye Netflix. From Forbes, “Netflix’s $9.4 billion in first-quarter revenues and $5.28 profit per share were comfortably above consensus analyst estimates, with Netflix’s top and bottom line marks both the best in its history.” Yet you feel the need to increase prices again? Not here for it.

The United States doesn’t support Ukraine as a favor, but because it serves our security. Putin is a dictator, not Zelensky. Putin started the war, not Zelensky. Yelling in the Oval Office and siding with Putin is shameful and a danger to democracy around the world.

America is over. There is no coming back from this.

If we're lucky maybe we claw back some small-l liberalism for our daily lives. But even that might be too much to hope for.

The rest of the world has to move on from us.

They now know that the American people can't be trusted.

They're right.

It's been obvious since January 6 that he was an enemy of the USA, the UK & the whole of the free world. Everybody still in his camp understands this as completely as everybody against it. They just prioritise personal interest over the national & international. And they know it. They all know it.

Musk, Vance & Trump all misrepresent democracy.

When they say “democracy”, they mean a free-for-all with no rule of law, where the winner takes all.

When Europe says “democracy”, we mean proportional representation, collaborative politics, citizen rights, and agreed guide rails guaranteed by law.

Von der Leyen is giving a properly powerful and defiant speech at the Munich conference. Call to action and arms for the European States and says that Ukraine's accession to EU will be sped up. A definite broadside against US appeasement of Putin, too.

She's knocking it out of the park.

This is what very welcome European co-operation and co-ordination looks like. If we cannot rely on the US (and after that MSC speech I don’t see anyone can pretend we can) we need a lot more of this.
Nordic-Baltic joint statement on Ukraine just published.

Good to see that coordination has been swift and unhesitant.

When I heard Musk say this on Tuesday, my assumption was that it was a programming issue. Because I can code and have written to databases and because I am familiar with other examples of default values being misinterpreted.
Yet somehow Musk isn't.

Constitutions die when people stop viewing them as binding and important. Legal constitutionalism is the back up for when political constitutionalism fails, as is happening in the US now. Its time for US lawyers to ensure the US Constitution is upheld while Trump is in office.

oh my gosh they brought back the monuments review.

this was so controversial under trump 1.0, the idea they might just get rid of national monuments willy nilly. so much was said.

now it’s like footnote number nine to this week’s news cycle.

not good if you’re, uh, a monument.
