Anyone else have go to writing/editing albums? For me it's Rodion's Generator and Etienne Jaumet's La Visite. Reliably gets my brain waves synced up in just the right way. Almost never listen to them in any other context.

Funnily enough, Yale was and remains my whale-ship.

Put pipe cleaners at my table during a morning-long retreat and you are absolutely going to get some seasonally appropriate crafts.

Only 8:30 in the morning but it seems today’s #saa24 theme is “catching strays”. @solidarity.pizza saw the plate on the car that got me.

Not to be too blunt about it, but this cluster hire will to a large extent shape the next two decades at the Beinecke. If you think you've got the juice, give it a squeeze!
the beinecke @ yale is doing a curatorial cluster-hire. my archival accessioning team is one facet of the support system you'd have in place here. lot of good folks & good collections. i'm not on the hiring committee + i'm happy to answer any questions i can: careers.archivists.org/jobs/1971892...

Just finished my second time through @harkaway.bsky.social's Angelmaker. Nine years since the first, and I love it still. If you haven't picked it up, do so. Especially archivist types - you could describe it as a meditation on the need for Tommy Guns in appraisal theory.

I've been manning the Manuscript Palisade for decades at this point. Made a few site visits to the Evil Clusterfuck Camp in my day, but thankfully never as a long term assignment.

Just finished a listen/re-listen to all 10 PJ Harvey albums. What an incredible hit rate. So many to love, and really only one that doesn't land with me.

First concert: Bob Dylan (UConn w/ my dad, 1993)
Last concert: Battles, (Dec. 2019 Boston)
Best: Tie between Pulp (1998 NYC) and Midnight Oil (ca. 2001 Boston)
Worst: Cornershop (ca. 2003 Boston, so disappointing)
Most: Probably Dylan (w/ my dad)
First concert: The Verve Pipe at Michigan State Fair, 1997
Last: Bill Callahan (almost ten years ago? Not sure if that’s right)
Best: Andrew Bird/Magnetic Fields 2004
Worst: … probably The Verve Pipe
Most: not counting my uncle’s bands, Andrew Bird (I’ve seen him twice)
First concert: Backstreet Boys (99)
Last: Kevin Garrett in March
Best: Mates of State/Spoon/Death Cab, The Postal Service
Worst: 🤔
Most: Death Cab, The Velvet Teen
Loudest: The Used, maybe?
Surprising: Bon Iver, Rainer Maria
Next: BEYONCÉ!!!
Wish: Usher in Vegas, Backstreet Boys for the nostalgia
