To be clear, you can be right left or center with this strategy, but they want to know it is the real new. If you change which camp you tend to lean into too many times then no one is gonna take you seriously.
People don’t want moderates, they want people to fight for what they believe in with conviction. Really undercutting his “fighter for CA normie Dem values” brand, and outing himself as the weathervane sociopath we all always thought he seemed like.
Gavin Newsom sees 10-point net drop in favorability since launching his podcast. Survey finds "the podcast only made 13% of voters have an improved perception of the Governor, with 26% saying that it harmed their perception."

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

It’s abundantly clear in the last few weeks that boomers by and large do not understand the gravity of the moment we’re in, I think there is a large correlation between “we’ve been here before and come back from the brink” thinking, and having low internet literacy, or being completely offline

Consultants see a branding problem, when really it’s an infrastructure problem.

The right has influencers and crowds that work together, and get algorithmic lift.

The left does not have a platform that is “theirs”, nor a plan to organize across them. So it keeps trying to work top-down.
