The world may reject for me this, but it's time I'm open about my pain over the word "love" (& even the concept) being taken in so many places to imply romance.

Rider has dark brown hair which has never been cut. It's not super thick or long, is just a touch a wavy, & amazingly not tangled given the lack of care.
I imagine him having just a touch of facial hair, at this point, no where near enough to count as a beard. I don't - 1/2

My novels never use the word, & I never think about it much. But my being ace means I naturally write mostly ace MCs, (I think ace is considered queer in some circles🤔)
I've also gotten into a lot of trouble bc ppl can't understand platonic love.😞

I think protective, familiar love is the strongest driving emotion in Lawcket's story as a whole.
Even that comes in many forms, & is deeply complex. It's not just a story of family bonds, it's a story of compassion & of personal struggles from many different views, & stages of life.
