im sure it wont make much of a dent but just to be safe, in the tradition of all financial downfalls, the 6 game owch bundle is 4.20 all week (including the itch version of 10S FOREVER, pictured, usually 8 bucks on its own!)

I heard there was a handy clasp
That helps rock climbers with their grasp
Of ropes, and makes your keyring look much keener
It saves on space, it opens in,
And closes with a subtle spring,
The humble and the trusty

The problem with “virtue signaling” as a rhetorical framework was always that it pressed you not toward deeper and more sincere acts of virtue, but away from goodness as a goal at all.

In my opinion it’s time to retire the Nobel prizes for fields where most of the important discoveries have already been made, like physics, and add prizes for newer fields where substantial innovations occur every year, like speedrunning

Unfortunately, I just found out that all funding and grants for my 2025 projects are canceled.

Would love the opportunity to continue the musical journey started with #Ultros. Comfortable with #GameMusic #GameAudio. Retweets appreciated linktr.ee/ratvader

@cstross.bsky.social I can't find reference to it anywhere so either I've discovered a cool Easter egg or Amazon are up to something. Is it intentional that the Kindle edition of The Labyrinth Index contains a hyperlink to v3.globalgamejam.org/2018/games/c... ?

I'm a bit late coming to the last part of this, but playing hockey and starting to run regularly has been, no joke, life changing. I've lost weight, I'm sleeping better, eating better, my knee pain has more or less disappeared. Turns out all those "diet and exercise" people were right all along
young people: dedicate your 20s to debauched living in whatever form you prefer, then start taking care of yourself and working out in your 30s and you will be in the best shape of your life as you approach middle age

Big personal milestone today, finished my first 5K! Only started running a few months ago after a couple of decades of zero exercise, really pleased with this progress

I realise the answer is ideological, but from a practical point of view the cost of keeping this service live until the heat death of the universe would be a rounding error in Google's overall budget. The desire of companies with infinite money to kill every useful thing they ever built baffles me
Imagine being this stupid.

I've brought this up in interviews I've done with queer adult game devs

There are no safe spaces for queer games in general as long as payment providers/banks get to set the terms of our existence

This is the right-wing playbook. Get queer lives declared porn, then outlaw queer people

I hate this
Valve just updated their Steam rules to ban content that “may violate rules set by payment processors or banks.” Sounds boring. It’s not. It’s the quiet normalization of financial censorship and it’s going to hurt LGBTQ+ games and devs

Last month for the final project in my 'economics for game designers' class at @nyugamecenter.bsky.social, students made some *incredible* incremental games, so I wanted to do a thread showing off their work!
