Leigh Wambsganss raised nearly $2.3 million for the SD9 district, much of it coming from three billionaire-funded PACs.

Taylor Rehmet raised $346,000, most of it coming from donations of $100 or less. His biggest donor gave him $12K, and a bunch of local unions also cut him larger checks.

Just going to note, yet again, that our entire National Conversation™️ about Congress & ICE is about What Democrats Must Do, while the actual people in Congress - all of whom are Republicans - who can really Do Something are getting Total Free Passes from the media & the online commentariat. Focus.
I'm also going to keep banging the drum that in Washington could end almost all of this immediately, by fulfilling their oaths & caucusing with the Democrats, & we should stop giving them every day & laser focus on that:

Again, I’m going to keep banging the drum that the fact we are threatening the territorial sovereignty of our closest allies is not only a gross violation of our UN & NATO treaty obligations & poses a massive threat to national security & world order but also should immediately end this presidency.

Also missing from Prof. Wurman's anti-birthright citizenship brief: The Act of Settlement 1701, a fundamental constitutional statute. Not only is subjecthood tied to geography, but eligibility to hold a position on the Privy Council or sit in Parliament was tethered to birth within the realm alone.

The charges against Don Lemon are ridiculous. He’s a target because he’s black, because he’s media, and because he’s a Trump critic, and because Trump and his minions cannot accept any dissent. It’s deeply pathetic, unamerican, and lawless.

Read Professor Burmila's thread from seven months ago before you try making sense of the incoherence in the latest yougov survey on immigration. Median voters like Trump's goals but not his means. It's nonsense.
The basic fallacy in chasing votes by being "tough on immigration" is that the modal American's position on the issue is "Deport the Bad ones and keep the Good ones," and they alone know who is which, and that simply does not translate into workable policy. So this kind of gestapo stuff (1/2)

Watch the full clip. In short, Wolfers says we are not talking about what future generations are going to lose as a consequence of Trump's sabotage of institutions, because our news media is not designed to ask those questions.

He says we need to ask them.
Wolfers: This is the most interventionist government of my lifetime. It’s the least conservative government of my lifetime. When you are the richest country in the world, maybe you are not the ones who should be tearing down your existing institutions. But that’s exactly what this president is doing
