These are VERY rough estimates, but here's life expectancy after diagnosis of type-I diabetes over the past 150 years.

It was Banting and Best's discovery of how to isolate insulin in 1921 — not some fucking cooking class — that gave people including my daughter a new lease on life.

6 weeks ago today, planes flew a few hundred people to El Salvador, where they’re being held at CECOT — a place from which Salvadoran officials brag no one is ever released — at US expense.

Their continued detention there is our continued shame.

This is what revisionist history looks like, in real time. And this also is why it might appear that archaeologists and historians have to dig deep to discover the existence of powerful women and marginalized groups -- because their legacies are so often erased.

Folks have been writing about how the rollback of DEI is segregationist which is absolutely true, but to add, so too are the deportations. Immigration policy in the US has a long history of servicing white supremacy — and it literally denies the co presence of people of color.

This list is mostly Black women. It's clear that the entire anti-DEI project is just neo-segregation. It's the same reason they only targeted Black women at Harvard. They don't believe people of color or women should have any positions of power. www.aol.com/federal-heal...

Bouie lays out the stakes plainly and clearly. It’s the first such frank appraisal in legacy media. I’m very glad he wrote it. It’s shareable and accessible and will provide framing Dems who haven’t been able to figure it out can use. There’s also a nudge toward 2nd reconstruction at the end. Bravo.

To be clear, Palestinians have resisted American funded & Israeli operated ethnic cleansing since 1948.

Trump is just the latest of a long line of monsters, he’s just the dumbest & says the quiet part out loud.

But make no mistake: Palestine will be free from the river to the sea.

It's WAY overused these days, but Tolkien nailed it. "I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
