About 1,000 women. It's time that this came fully to light.

Back when I was a good little anti-gay Republican footsoldier, I never imagined that one day the talking point we all repeated about "if we legalize gay relationships, it'll lead to widespread acceptance of pedophilia" was going to be fulfilled exactly and only by the Republicans themselves.

One of the few things J.D. Vance has said that I agree with. Of course, that was several years ago. I think his opinion has changed now.
We didn't know it at the time, but this was his answer to a question on the job application for VP of the United States.
Well, he's certainly stayed consistent on that point!

I DARE you to find "Epstein" on Fox News's website today. Amid the furor and the petition and the Republican defections, it's actually there, but buried very hard, and as small as they could possibly make it. They can't admit their guy is backed up against the wall today.

Here's an idea for Veteran's Day. Did you know that about 1 in 5 unhoused men in the US is a military veteran? Instead of just attending a parade, find a way to serve the homeless in your town. Better yet, commit to making it a regular service you do. /1

Now we get to see if all those evangelicals who love the Christian financial guru Dave Ramsey have ACTUALLY been paying attention to what he teaches about mortgages.

I suspect not.

Donald Trump proposing 50-year mortgages sparks MAGA backlash
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte said on Saturday that the Trump administration is working on a plan to introduce the longer-term mortgages.

Jamieson makes an excellent point. For decades, politically-conservative Christians have been arguing that the church and not the government should be taking care of the poor. But consider this counterpoint: half a million churches is 230 million CHRISTIANS, roughly 60 million families. /1

Trump's own lawyer just admitted to the Supreme Court that American consumers pay 30%-80% of these insane Trump tariffs.

Over the next 10 years, Trump says they will collect over $4T in tariffs.

So that means American families are going to be paying $1.2T-$3.3 trillion dollars in TARIFF TAXES.

Calling Mamdani an "Islamic Jihadist" proves exactly one thing: he's a religious bigot. He hasn't got the guts to look around the world and realize that people of many different faiths other than his are actively trying to do the very works of Jesus, just under a different faith.

I reckon we need to strip that poem from the base of the Statue of Liberty now. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
The Trump administration is restricting the number of refugees admitted annually to the United States to 7,500 and they will mostly be white South Africans, a dramatic drop announced Thursday that effectively suspends America’s traditional role as a haven for those fleeing war and persecution.

The wealth of the super rich is usually massive real estate holdings, and most of them get a very small cash paycheck. Not only is it a way of hiding from taxes, it also lets them justify giving a pittance to charity, claiming a tiny fraction of their wealth is a large portion of their “income.”

Reading between the lines here: for many people, becoming unhoused is only a few paychecks away. And what happens in a furlough? Homelessness is NOT just drug users and mental illness - now more than ever. If you are still getting a paycheck, please do whatever you can to help those around you.
Federal Workers Are Barely Making It Through the Government Shutdown

If Biden had suggested demolishing the East Wing of the White House, Republicans would have lost their minds. If he had done it without proper congressional oversight, he would have been impeached and convicted and removed from office within a week, by BOTH parties, on unanimous votes.
