Learn the equivalent of La Migra in other languages common in your communities. It’s “Imigração” for our Portuguese speaking friends. The “c” is like an “s”. Share any other languages we should know!!

Ok lawyers, civil rights and immigration attorneys. ICE is out and about in the greater boston area today. Say you’re a US citizen and get stopped by ICE, what documentation should you have on you? What if you were born here? @aclum.bsky.social

Can we stop saying “The report found that Gaetz allegedly twice had sex with the 17-year-old”. If she’s a minor it’s assault not sex.

Accident on 95 South in Woburn. Fire, police, EMS on scene. Hope the driver was out of the vehicle before this occurred.

So this is nuts that I even have to say this, but imposing tariffs on Mexico won’t curb the flow of drugs because, and pay attention because this is important, drugs are typically smuggled and therefore tariffs will not apply. I know, crazy that Trump doesn’t know this, right?

Massachusetts saw a 37% increase in abortions in the year after the Dobbs decision.

Patients and providers in our state deserve privacy – especially in the face of continued threats to access nationwide. We must ban the sale of cell phone location data.

Abortions were up 37% in Mass. last year, driven by patients from other states
Massachusetts saw a substantial increase in abortions in 2023, the first full year after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Most of the change can be explained by a nearly seven-fold rise ...

Truth be told, it does seem kind of silly to have the FBI do background checks on presidential appointees when the president is a convicted criminal and an adjudicated digital rapist.

“Incorrectly indicated” sounds like you misunderstood the question or weren’t paying attention. You KNEW you didn’t have said degree and stated you did - that’s called LYING.
Is Trump deliberately nominating completely unqualified people for these positions?

Devastating. At last week's criminology meetings, James Densley, David Pyrooz & Jillian Peterson shared results of their nationally representative YouGov survey of exposure to mass shootings (w/ 4+ shot).

7% of US adults reported being present on scene at a mass shooting

2% reported being injured

Kelly Wallace, Olivia Leo and I just presented research on this and how the @bostonherald.bsky.social covered SA in 2023. Last year we looked at the same year’s coverage in @bostonglobe.com
I'm trying to read about the police report, re: sexual assault and Hegseth, and it's inspired me to re-post, once more, the brilliant @dianamoskovitz.bsky.social's long and important take on why you don't need to use the word "alleged" or "allegedly" deadspin.com/against-alle...

My students I just presented research on how SA is covered in the media. We started the project bc of how often we see “allegedly” used in SA coverage and how much it bothered us.

Love to ban trans women from capitol restrooms in order to “protect women and girls” while suppressing a report about the incoming attorney general paying for the statutory rape of a minor while in congress and showing women’s nudes on the House floor

If Gaetz was applying for a job as a HIGH SCHOOL HISTORY TEACHER, there is no way in hell a school would hire him without reviewing all info about allegations he paid young women — including a 17-year-old — for sex & drugs

But the Senate should confirm him for ATTORNEY GENERAL w/o the same info?

Agreed, with the caveat that the primary goal is solidarity and safety for the person being attacked. Shaming the perpetrator is secondary, and feeling like a hero needs to be way down on the list, because accidentally making it about yourself to the victim’s detriment is a thing.
Also, challenge for you: if you witness someone harassing a trans woman or someone they suspect is a trans woman for using the restroom, go the fuck off on them. Make a huge scene. Make them regret they ever opened their mouth

To recap: Trump is a rapist found liable for defaming the woman he raped. His pick for attorney general is currently accused of statutory rape at sex parties. His pick for defense secretary is accused of sexual assault.

But Sarah McBride using a restroom is the threat.

Okay.
