This is correct. Any candidate cynically “triangulating” on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.
I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don't care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he's still not getting my vote.
On a recent podcast Gavin Newsom tells Shawn Ryan how the Trans sports issue opened the door for him to change his mind on GAC for Trans Youth.
As someone who adored him since 2004 and voted for him 5 times, I can't wait for him to leave office.

Oh my god I just finished Patriot on Amazon and it is CRIMINAL there is not more of this. It is one of the best crafted things I’ve seen. Spy show, family drama, deeply funny. Actors putting on a clinic. Writing, cinematography on point. Beautiful European locations. Watch ittttttt

There’s a strong body of research showing that naming things clearly—esp. systems of power and injustice—is essential to public understanding, mobilization and change.
We shouldn’t avoid calling things what they are just because it’s uncomfortable.
Power relies on our hesitation to speak plainly.

Re LLMs writing term papers: the other day I saw someone say that using LLMs to write is like bringing a forklift to the gym. It's not that the weights need to go up; it's that you need to do the lifting. The doing of the work is the result, not the paper being done or the weights having moved.

Neurodiversity is biodiversity. We need neutral, de-pathologizing terms for the natural variations that benefit each species, e.g. identification vs. diagnosis, traits vs. symptoms, neurotype vs disorder.
I have completely lost patience with deficit/medical model language in describing autistic traits. Why can't the language be neutral? Why can't we describe eye contact as "inconsistent" rather than "poor"?
