“mass deportation” trauma from this era is going to be a scar that’s with us for a long time
“With immigration agents under intense pressure to deport thousands of people each day, Ms. Lopez was pushed through the system swiftly and was deported within four days of the factory raid.
As a result, Jorge is now cared for by two siblings who are barely adults themselves.”
She Was Deported in Error. Her Child Was Left Behind.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.

Graduate seminar did a deep dive on Thomas Paine’s Common Sense yesterday. At the line, “in America the law is king,” they (14 students from 6 countries) burst out laughing. I've been doing this for 35 years and this is the first time that was a laugh line.

Friendly reminder that Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir drops Tuesday and contains the truth she wanted the world to hear about those who abused her and the cost of silence.

Buy it. Read it. Give the woman some justice.

This is Great Falls, Montana - the center of a red state. It might not look like much to you but 1500 people came out! Young people, old people. Lots of honking and excited energy. It's a shift!

Which Twilight Zone episode was it that had the national guard tackling 53-year-old grandmas on their way to the butcher's to pick up something for dinner?

A president who is crashing the economy, destroying public health and terrorizing immigrants keeps slipping in the polls. He could:
A) stop his bad behavior to stem the slide
or
B) try to crush free speech to cover up his failures.
Right now, he’s choosing B.

Unanswered question: What did Maxwell offer up as her side of the bargain? This is unprecedented, lenient treatment of a sex offender serving a 20 year sentence. Her side of the deal must have been highly valuable—someone really wanted whatever she offered.
Ghislaine Maxwell, serving 20 yrs for sex trafficking minors, has been given permission to leave minimum security campus for work assignments, per @muellershewrote.com

What annoys me is that GOP is redistricting while Dems are talking about and considering clapping back.

They simply do.

We wring our hands, talk about it, shake our fists.

And it’s always like that.

Always.

Dems need to move with FEROCITY and ALACRITY, and we never ever ever ever ever DO!

Pause for three minutes and soak up the grace of this man.

Earlier today, the father of three U.S. Marines, Narciso Barranco, spoke publicly for the first time after being pinned to the ground and savagely punched by ICE agents while they arrested the landscaper outside the IHOP where he worked.

In my research on complicity one thing is clear: It is VERY hard for people to backtrack on rationalizations and self justifications, i.e., to admit they were wrong. People coming to a realization that they were scammed is a big deal; no one likes to admit they were fooled 1/

We won’t amplify it, but the president posting that Dems are “sick of mind” and “hate our country” immediately after 2 Dem lawmakers and their spouses were shot in their homes is the opposite of leadership. Gas on the fire.
