So I'm toying around with Guild Wars 2 for the first time a bit due to a friend getting back into it, and... like, it has swimming combat as a matter of course and it's... kinda decent? And flying/swimming combat isn't that common in MMOspace?

Taking Aura's recommendations to heart has helped me move to a world where I successfully pick up new not-the-big-tentpole-anticipated games to play instead of being stuck in decision paralysis. There's a lot out there to enjoy!

Watching the WPPR channel in the IFPA discord is amazing because the asshole in charge keeps deleting messages, so it's always marked as 'unread messages'.

I don't remember what caused me to pick up my first pack. I remember what brought me back: people at Work playing post-college. As of Lorwyn block I was attending every prerealse I could in the area. As of Zendikar, I was trying to be competitive. As of Mirrodin Beseiged I got my first Pro Point.

This is the crushing nail in the coffin with the situation for me as well. The relevant rules state the event should not be sanctioned. 'what if someone was terrible enough to a marginalized group to make them never even try to sign up' is not a get out of jail free card for discrimination!
I am not a pinball player. I am legitimately cursed when it comes to Pinball, I cannot play it to save my life. But I have a lot of friends who do, and now their favorite hobby is ruined cause some guy decided he wanted to APPEAR woke by having trans inclusive rules, but he didnt want to follow them

As a lifelong event/community organizer I gotta say: the IFPA ignoring their entire women's league board and not make right on blatant hate-crime tier transphobia that biased against an entire group participating in a rated tournament is a sign of rot in the wood.

Closed the book on Wizardry V SNES today. Last boss was a chump compared to everything else I had to fight to get ready for surviving the pre-last-boss encounters, including the superboss loop I had to do 4 times thanks to Retroachievements.

So I decided to pick up Wizardry 5 (SNES) and I have to say, while it is still a big pile of bullshit like any wizardry, it has done numerous things which are significant leaps forward in terms of its game mechanics and design.
It has a 'memo' feature that has all NPC speech you've seen.

I'll be more clear: Every large US-based logistics operation largely (or only) exists because of government subsidy, often military related. The people who have a vested interest in lying to you about that, AKA, republicans, should make you suspicious.
So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
