Or more generally, "Are you poor? Fuck you!"
everything else notwithstanding, it is really quite something that the official position of the Republican Party seems to be "health insurance should be more expensive :)"

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis
For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare
We will keep fighting

After all this they just gave up? What the fuck?
agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

Trade offs have to be made. Sometimes you've just got to sacrifice the safety of American commercial aviation on the eve of a mass travel holiday in order to keep the neediest people unfed and uninsured
"We have loss of separation in the airspace. Those numbers are going up. More ground incursions. I have more complaints coming into the FAA from pilots who are saying that air traffic controllers are not as responsive. They seem stressed or they're not using the appropriate language..."

And the memorial was to recount the service of African-Americans to bury the dead that fought in the fields. My great Grandfather William O. Walker served as a chaplain during WWI and he named his daughter Lorraine after his experience.
4/ One of those roles was burying the dead, a highly traumatic duty as many of the bodies were severely mutilated. The cemetery was constructed by the 960th Quartermaster Service Company, an all-Black unit of 260 men under the command of a White officer (as was usual).

The article itself makes it sound like he just gave up the lease to the island? It's a little unclear.

Exactly. I’ve been bitching about this to my crim pro students, to be honest. It’s fascinating seeing all these lawyers and law profs thinking it’s nullification when they haven’t even considered that it was just a plain insufficiency issue.
Sandwich verdict wasn’t jury nullification. It was failure to prove the required “reasonable fear of physical injury” in a case where the agent was wearing A BULLETPROOF VEST. The only crime was the waste of resources on this case. My thoughts in @MSNBCDaily.

Opinion | The sandwich thrower was wrong. But Jeanine Pirro was, too.
To establish a forcible assault, jurors were required to find that Dunn caused “reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm.” That allegation was laughable.

Yes, some people's legacies are complicated. For example, Watson. After all, though he was racist, don't forget his other traits. For example, he was also sexist. And also anti-semitic. And a data / idea thief. So let's not forget all the different facets.
