Someone should write an alternate historical novel where Stephen Miller’s parents never met.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

This Frank Sinatra? The one who made a ten-minute short film about religious pluralism? The one who refused to play segregated venues?

Stephen Miller once again proving himself to be the most fetid piece of trash in the entire dumpster.

Once again, I must remind everyone that the best way to renew my interest in a segment of a show I last watched with my grandpa in 1979 is to censor that segment.

The real question is how this wasn’t already a word.
Not for the first time, the signature block for Self-Proclaimed U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan spelled it “Virgina.”

This bullshit is putting pressure on my first-year students to somehow produce a "writing sample" out of the ether, and I'm getting very stabby over it. No, they don't have a writing sample. The first thing I assigned to them as a diagnostic of their skills incoming is not a writing sample. Just no.
Duuuuuuuuumb

Sorry for not offering better analysis
In a first, many top law firms this year are recruiting summer associates during students' first semester. Some are dangling ‘jumbo offers’ and ‘loyalty’ bonuses for students who do two summer stints back-to-back, keeping them out of other firms' reach reut.rs/44U44cD

1) Do these people have any idea who John Adams was married to?
2) Ambitious, intellectual conservative women feel politically homeless because they are. Conservatism is inherently sexist. It will never treat women as equals.

‘For the Reinvention of Man’: How a Conservative Debating Society at Harvard Pushed Women From Its Ranks | News | The Harvard Crimson
The John Adams Society began quietly excluding women from membership this semester, former and prospective affiliates told The Crimson. It is now effectively functioning as a single-sex organization.

Honestly, the strategic incompetence of this administration gives me great comfort. By targeting Mark Kelly, they have elevated the visibility of an extremely effective communicator who would be hugely threatening to them as a centrist presidential candidate.
Mark Kelly: "This president, when he says things like 'third world countries,' what is he really saying? I think what he's saying is he doesn't want brown people in our country. And that's disturbing. It's un-American."

I join the chorus of people from Philly and beyond in thanking @houlahan.house.gov, as well as @deluzio.house.gov and the other four members of Congress targeted by Donald Trump, for your unwavering defense of our Constitution.

There must be no place in our country for political violence. (1/2)
Fear is contagious, but so is courage. I remain steadfast in my oath to the Constitution and am grateful to those across the nation who stand with us. Don't give up the ship.

I do not understand anything that is happening here, the most glaring of which is that Trump sounds like a relatively normal person.
Q: would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani administration ?

TRUMP: I would. I really would.

Shame on Rep. Clay Higgins & shame on anyone who thinks this is acceptable.
This man didn’t just cast the lone “no” vote on exposing a global sex-trafficking network… he also grabbed a citizen for daring to ask a question he didn’t like. I hope this young man presses charges.

There are a lot of people on here today flipping out at the possibility that other people on here might be giving Rep. Jewish Space Lasers credit for anything. To those people, I remind you that the Allies could not have won WWII without the USSR, so maybe make some tea and just breathe through it.

The fact that @harvard.edu's Larry Summers is teaching three courses this semester while Texas A&M Professor Melissa McCoul was fired tells you all you need to know about what "gender ideology" is allowed and which is not. @aaup.org
When former Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers was pursuing a romantic relationship with a woman he described as a mentee, he turned to a longtime associate for guidance: Jeffrey E. Epstein.

Today I read that Cecil Rhodes said "I would annex the planets if I could; I often think of that. It makes me sad to see them so clear and yet so far.” And this made Elon Musk snap into historical context in a very specific way.
