Fun Facts Friday!
8675309 is prime, and so is 8675311, so if you ever need a middlin'-large pair of adjacent primes to test your cryptographic suite, all you need is a 1980s earworm and a +2 and you're all set.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

If you've got 9 minutes, this is an amazing video.
This is incredible, accurate and aesthetically beautiful.
It's also a reminder that ICE are the new Black & Tans.
If you've got 9 minutes, I highly recommend this.

I am lucky enough that my commute to work is typically walking. It does make a huge difference in my mental health and I typically arrive in a much better mood.
“Someone with a 1-hr car commute needs to earn 40% more to be as happy as someone with a short walk to work. On the other hand, if someone shifts from a long commute to a walk, their happiness increases as much as if they’d fallen in love.” #CityMakingMath

This is 100% the type of thread you need on a Friday morning.
THREAD. A collection of photographs of excellent sheep I have met on walks.

You will find the captions to each photo in the alt text.

I tend to stay away from all organized religion, but it's too good to not share.
What's from Chicago, hates Illinois Nazis, and is holy as fuck?

It's the Pope in 1982.

This is just a perfect summary.
On this Veterans Day, I'm reflecting on the fact that our Commander-in-Chief is a lying draft dodger who kicked out 5,000 trans service members who, unlike him, were serving ably and honorably, after hiring a white supremacist, alcoholic TV chatterbox to run our military.

I never really thought about oil this way, now I am even more supportive of green energy - the last thing we need is an Elder God joining into this nonsense.

I'm enjoying the show as is (actually both shows), but man, what a drug addled crossover episode this could be.

This! I would love a country where everyone is housed and fed and provided necessary medical care. Unfortunately I don't get to choose how the tax money is allocated, I can only write my representatives and vote.

Merriam-Webster bringing out the hard truths on a Friday.
October is the 10th month.

‘October’ means “8th month.”

In the first calendar used in ancient Rome, the year had only ten months, starting in March and ending in December.

The extra period between December and March was not considered part of the series of months.

My God's, the respect I have had for this man just continues to grow.
Former Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman decided to leave the FBI in part because he didn’t believe in the agency’s role in enforcing immigration.
Former Bears CB Charles Tillman: I left FBI because I didn't agree with its role in immigration
He told “The Pivot” podcast in an episode this week that he left after eight years because of his conscience.

This is disturbing. When will AI stop this nonsense? Yet another thing no one asked for.
The earliest zombie movies were about voodoo.

They were metaphors for how the rich and powerful would, if given the option, work us to death and then force us to keep working after that.
For decades, Stan Lee was the king of comic conventions. Now, nearly seven years after his death at the age of 95, he will once again be a presence at L.A. Comic Con, this time as a hologram that will use AI to have conversations with fans.
